Airbrushtutor's Log - Start 21.06.14

Love Spreading Overseer
Put simply, the improvement I saw in jag's work in his own log is what has inspired me to create my own here.
I'd like to complete at least 1 full color artwork and airbrush tutor tutorial at least once per month.
I want to arrive to a point in my work where it can't be distinguished between airbrushing and photo. Once I've reached this stage I want to adventure a little and start to really create some of my own art with colorful and impacting themes and backgrounds.
It's a long journey ahead but I'm set well on the path..
If I'm not painting in my spare time I want to be working on improvements in the forum or adding new products and tutorials to the airbrushtutor site :)

This is goed to see Mitch, I'm pretty sure jag will be proud once he knows his progress inspired you to post your own log, I take my hat off to both of you.

It's just a little more than 2 years since the forum began, I just hope you know how many people you have made happy in that short time, we now have many great artists here who know that for sure.

I think I speak for the majority when I say we are all behind you and rooting for you to succeed in not only the goals you mention here, but any venture at all you set your mind to in the future, you deserve every bit of it, you've worked hard for it.

Your' phrase "spread the love" was probably a lighthearted request on your part, but has become a serious forum mission and one which has been realised to the full on more than just a few occasions, therefore, a massive achievement on your part, you and everyone who knows you can be proud of that.

You have nothing left to prove to anyone since you've already done all anyone could ever expect from you and more, so just enjoy the rest of your journey.

We wish you the very best of luck, but I doubt you'll need it, you'll get what you want whatever, your positive mental attitude will see to that.

And lastly, thanks for everything mate.

That's great to hear, Mitch. I believe it's your inspirational tutorial videos that reels in the majority of members into this forum, including myself. Since I've joined I hadn't seen any new videos. It's understandable that they're probably very time consuming and costly. Luckily there are some very talented and helpful members here that keep the tutorials and how-to's going.
I'ts also nice to see you be an active member of the forum and directly encourage the people you've inspired.
Looking forward to seeing more of your work, and thanks for all that you do.

Cheers @Madbrush :p pretty touching message mate i really appreciate it :)
Thank you also @Heliotropic, yeah the free vids are quite time consuming, instead at the moment i'm working on improving myself as an artist and getting paid tutorials out there to create some sort of sustainability. I love putting energy into airbrushing and it's tuition in my spare time and would prefer to spend my time here doing that rather than working a 9-5 - i find this much more rewarding, so i have to evolve and work in a way that allows for it's sustainability because the more our little community grows, the more expensive it becomes and it changes into a business itself! So i need to change with it and instead of loathe it for costing so much, find ways to cover those costs and keep spreading the love haha

Yeh "Share the love" Mitch

It was the vids that brought me here initially and It's the only forum I really spend any time at. Everyone is friendly and helpful and that's what make this Forum a great place to hang out. Hope to see you sometime over this year, if ur at the KKBO or wherever. Will be good to shake your hand and get you a beer.

What do you expect Mitch your youtube videos are legendary :) We wish you nothing but the best for your airbrushing journey

Are those Hank Azaria's eyes?

Hank Azaria?? Holy cow i just googled it and it's him hey! hahaha.
No, I was carrying my camera at Oktoberfest and taking snaps, this guy walked in front of me and i pointed and shot. The sunlight was perfect for it and it picked up on all the details in his face. I had to paint it :toesies:

I want to arrive to a point in my work where it can't be distinguished between airbrushing and photo

Well with what we've all seen you do I'd say by next week you'll be doing all that arty stuff :) and that will be fun to watch along with.. :)

Your work is exceptional Mitch. I rank your portraits right up there with Marissa's and a couple others. Like countless others, I've been following your work through YouTube for quite a while now. Your videos have taught me a lot of great things, and even a few things not to do no matter how great the idea sounds at the time(like never painting your space scene from the video in nothing but iridescents!) It came out like a bad 70's van mural, lol. Keep up the great work Mitch :)

Well it's about time bud...LOL seriously though, I really cant say much that hasn't already been said but Malky hit the nail on the head. Your initial slogan "spread the love" I believe has gone far beyond it's origin intention. It has become not just a phrase but a "code of ethics" for most of us here even us little folks...lol Quite honestly a lot of folks tend to either be too serious or too goofy to get their point across but you seem to have enough of both to inspire and motivate. I personally am not very talented or very good but I can say without a doubt if not for finding your videos and this forum I probably would have given up and just added to my collection of fizzled hobbies. I THANK YOU !

Madbrush said it better than I could ever have. This place and the generosity of time, encouragment and support, from everyone involved, has got me to where I am in my airbrushing journey (cliche phrase - but still true). The laughs, banter, and love that gets spread along the way make it a fab place to be - welcoming, friendly, and not at all intimidating. There is no fear that you will get slammed or laughed at or made to feel stupid, and that freedom really helps people to learn. And that's thanks to you Mitch, I'm just proud to be a part of it.

With your dedication to the art, the time and energy you put in, I am in no doubt you will reach any goal you set yourself, and when you get there it will only be what you deserve.

I have let my log slide, because I have been feeling a little stuck on a plateau recently, don't feel I am moving forward as I would like, and haven't had anything that shows improvement to put there. Maybe this is the kick up the butt I need to get myself back on track, and remind me of the goals I set myself in my own log. As always Mitch, you never fail to inspire :love::love:

Well, Mitch( @airbrushtutor ), I really don't know what to say about that one. What comes around goes around, I guess. Inspiring a legend in his own mind is a pretty great accomplishment. ;) lol

I dropped out of Airbrushing for 20 years and got the bug again after attending a local art show. A quick search for Airbrush Tutorials brought up your videos, website and this forum. I watched every single one your tutorials and was completely sold into getting back into it. After many hours of dots, lines, and daggers, I started getting back into the groove of things. Without you and this site, I would not be where I am today. I and everyone in this place owe you nothing but respect for having started such a great community and inspiring so many people. I'm Glad and proud that I could return the favor.
