TomWill the steel wool break up and leave wee bits stuck in the paper? I have used it for wood finishing and you have to be very careful that none is left in the surface. Stuffing it in an old pen barrel is a super idea though!! Perhaps having a small vacuum (hoover) close to hand could take care of that.
Tom
I did not know that either until he taught me about it. So I guess it is something that is only passed down through certain wood workers .Thanks Herb ... I didn't know about the poke test ... good info.
Tom
I thought that was known as the prick test and not the poke test LOLHmm that's not the version of the poke test I know!

Oh, did you mix your own Payne's grey with Golden or do you have a source... I've not found it in NZ and not listed on their colour chart but it mixes together easily.Oh I forgot to say this was all done in Golden high flow Paynes gray , straight monotone no chaser LOL
Actually it was in one of the free kits I got from their rep. Which like you state it is not in their paint chart as being a released color in the High Flow.Oh, did you mix your own Payne's grey with Golden or do you have a source... Try it , It should be soft enough when compared to the 0000 . Might give a little heavier look to the scratch but not by much .On another note, I found my steel wool. Best I have at present is 000.
For some reason Grandma's never like that joke Mine did not think it was funny either...I gave my gran a few balls of steel wool and asked her to knit me a car. She did not think it was funny.
