Snap out of that goatdog way of thinking, you've done some cracking pictures. When Marissa gets hold of you.....well im sure windows will open in your mind and your confidence will grow too

gary its probably a guy named wayne pinkham who I helped out a little bit. hes a good lad aswell

Happy news all over the place Gary, I know you'll do fine, in fact I have a feeling you'll be her number one student, so you can stop with all your negative talk and just look forward to it:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I think there more than one going mate, so thats out the windowlol

Right that's it, I'm not even going to talk to you any more until you've done it and you crawl back here apologising because we were all right in the first place, @Cordyk and @ad fez said you'll be fine and they are both MODS, you can't just say to them they are wrong , those guys will just ban your arse to infinity and back. you'll end up wearing your Micron as a brace while your teeth heal up, I would watch out if I was you, they've obviously been kicked out of whatever they were doing last month so they are on a lot now and can see your blasphemous remarks:eek::eek::eek::eek::):):)

Im sure ill be fine, as long as i enjoy my time and learn something ill be happy.
If i come away with a nice pic aswell believe me it will be getting shown about, i might even be allowed a spot on a downstairs wall;)

Finally managed to sort things out and payed the deposit today, all i have to do now is get some practice in and look forward to June.

Great stuff. You'll enjoy it.

Small tip, don't try and impress with what you think you already know.

Well done mate:thumbsup: I wouldn't worry too much about practice at this stage. unless the Fez, Cordy or anyone else who has been there make suggestions on what best to practice since I think you expect some huge differences in approach, although maybe a little "back to basics" practising to improve control might be wise, I can't wait, I have very high hopes indeed:thumbsup:

If i tried that Andre i would only embarass myself, and im not the sort to attempt to big myself up as it soon comes around to bite you on the arse.
i dont no enough to do what i want, so this will hopefully get me A wee bit further down the path.

Thanks Malky.

Im not going to go over the top trying to learn new things, ill leave that to the course.
I do want and will practice the basics as you have rightly said, even though i hate practice, i want to aleast have the skills to control the brush compentantly.
Ill still do the odd portrait because that is teaching me to recognise shapes and blends.
And if anyone has been on the course and can suggest what i need to do practice wise im more than willing to listen.

You know a lot more than you did when you first started, you've learned how important the right gear is and the benefits of a proper working space so basically once you finish your course you have everything you need to just get on with it, you have learned some stuff about airbrush it'self and even produced some work because of it, and whilst I wouldn't say any technique you have learned is wrong I have a feeling that Marissa will most likely show you that the correct times to use these techniques, I'm sure that's what @AndreZA meant and it's also what I meant, the practice can be soul destroying as we all know and you have plenty of time to mess so you can still throw in an hour here and there when you feel like it an still have fun with other stuff, my thinking, which is just my thinking is that the better your aim once you get there the more time you will have for the fun stuff that Marissa will be doing.

I can tell you that one of the biggest problems I have is trying to hit the same line or indeed any other stroke twice or more times without it starting to look untidy and muddy, so I reckon anyone at all who can get a little of the grace needed to do that freehand is pretty much in a good place, I remember one artist in a video practically playing join the dots which struck me as half decent exercise to help with aim.

I seem to be going on a bit, but in short I think what I'm trying to say is, enjoy the time you have in between before Marissa (and Carlo) fill you full of the best coffee ever and then beat some discipline into youlollollol

Cheers Mate,
Practice is soul destroying for me but if i want that control then it needs to be done, anyway i think my chinese might be improvin in the near future;).
As i work one handed, against the norm i know, aim is something i need to get down 100% along with subtle trigger control so ill be working on those 2 things alot and trying to learn more about my paint, hopefully we'll use Marissa's paint on the course as thats all i use at home now.
I cant say ill be looking forward to the famous coffee, i only drink tea, but if needs must ill give it ago:thumbsup:

I'm so jealous!! LOL You'll do great! I can't wait to see your work when you come back from the class. I'm sure there will be wonderful improvements.
