I have recently put down quite a big purchase with these guys..

I got my self a bambi compressor, Airbrush and a bunch of paints.

These guys really knew what they were doing and when I wasn't sure which compressor would be best I rang Graphic Air and they helped me.

Amazing customer service and I got my order about 2 days after I rang.

I would recommend them to anyone!!

Rediculously expensive, I can get a CM-SB2 here in the Netherlands for around €425, at their prices it's nearly €600, only a complete fool would pay that, for a little more than that I could get a pimped K33 micron, and I know bambi compressors are generally expensive but their prices are way above the normal prices not to mention the high cost for posting out of Britain.

You obviously work for them?

Well done Daniel, look forward to seeing what they produce!! No idea what Bert is on about... :)

You're slipping Mark. No formal introduction from either.

Bert , your response was a little abrupt. You could have just pointed out that you'd found the same items cheaper elsewhere rather than stating a member was a complete idiot!

@Adam Daniel , this is why we push for introductions where people tell us a little about themselves, where they are from (so we can provide supplier recommendations) what they hope to paint on (helps us give paint / brush choices)

As long as you are happy with your purchases then that's all that matters

Ah yes... @Bert-DB and @Adam Daniel can you please go along to the introductions here... http://www.airbrushforum.org/introductions/ and provide your introduction... Look forward to knowing you both better.

Not going to happen mate, introductions are useless since they disappear quickly into the archives never to be seen again, the clever ones put all their important info into their profiles, avatars and signatures where they can be seen always at a glance, I'm sure I read somewhere that an introduction isn't compulsory so I shall refrain as is my right, as yet I have no equipment and that is why it doesn't appear anywhere, when I do eventually get what I need it will appear in my signature where everyone can see it every time I post, this will save them the time having to sift through thousands of introductions to find out what I have, I haven't asked a single question and I'm not likely to either since I can find everything I need in the archives, to be honest I only logged on to avoid irritating adverts and be able view the amazing works here at full size (your own included) so what I have or don't have and what I do or don't do matters to no one, when I have something to offer or can help I will do that in the spirit of this forum, other than that I simply browse and mind my own business, I would ask you to extend me the same courtesy, I don't see "Moderator" or "Administrator" under your avatar but I have seen your work, on the basis of this I suggest you continue to produce these fine works and let the moderators do the moderating , that's what they signed up for:)

Please explain which member I called an idiot and show me where you saw the word idiot, I actually said "only a complete fool would pay that" and did not refer to anyone in particular, I was looking into the Micron and I can say without a doubt that I would be a complete fool if I bought it from Grafic air UK for one and a half times what I would pay for it here, and wouldn't you agree that two plugs to the same website/supplier accompanied by "That's awesome" is just a touch suspect?;)

@Bert-DB Disappointed you haven't chosen to join in with our community - while I'm not an admin or moderator I actively encourage people here and I'm asking you to either play nice or don't bother commenting. You are obviously quite capable so enjoy your browsing.

I made a comment which I would not describe as not playing nice, quite contrary, my comment was not an attack on Adam, but in fact an observation that the Graphic art's prices are far higher than average and I for one wouldn't pay them, I also stated that on the basis of two plugs out of a total of three posts I think that Adam either works for these people or is on a commission, would you seriously encourage your members to purchase materials and equipment for more than it's worth? I think for the benefit of those who may struggle to find funds it makes sense to let them know that there are not cheaper but more economical alternatives, that what I was "on about", if this is construed as "not playing nice" then I apologize.

Since freedom of speech and trying to help others is clearly a thing of the past, you may wish to explain to me exactly what is allowed and who I should be bowing to, I didn't use any fowl language, nor did I actually directly abuse anyone so please tell me what I did that you think wasn't playing nice, and I wasn't aware I actually needed permission to place a comment.

As I said I have no intention of posting an introduction, and this not be rude, it is simply because it is useless, I can see under your' avatar who and where you are and I can see in your' signature what you have, but I can't find your introduction, I can even see that you are artist of the month but since I voted for you I actually already knew that;)

You'll find that when I'm left alone I'll be quiet and do what I came here to do, which was simply to read through the archives to learn and view the great works here, as I said if I can help someone I will, other than that I don't have much to say, but if I see what I think is rip off, I'm afraid have to say something, but I will do this as politely as I can, I can not sit back and watch others having to fork out more than they need to for stuff they may struggle to have.

If after this you still think I'm not playing nice, simply PM a moderator and request my removal:thumbsup:

I stand corrected. You did not call anyone an idiot, you merely stated that anyone who paid €600 for a micron cm-sb2 would be a complete fool. Given that the original post cited that he had done so means your comment can be taken to infer that he is indeed a complete fool!

Regardless, I am not going to argue the statement. You've shown quite plainly why you are here. To take as much information as you see fit and not contribute. Enjoy yourself, when you request assistance you will likely be met with cold shoulder from anyone that remembers your statements here.
The 'flag' under anyone's name is irrelevant, we are a group that ALL help with the forum and if you are only going to listen to what a moderator or admin says then I'm sure that can be arranged

@Bert-DB Either jump in or keep your comments to yourself

You should both maybe have a look here http://www.airbrushforum.org/threads/aircom-flat-20a-is-leaking-oil.16014/page-3#post-238532 it would seem you both stand corrected, as I said when I can help I will "JUMP IN" when I can't help I'll simply do what I came here to do, I have just had a look at the forum rules and there is nothing there that says I can't read, I've been watching the tutors videos too, have I done wrong?, I hope not:eek:

Yes I saw that - very useful I agree. I was surprised when you replied as you did to Adam. You can read - no problem. Read the rest of the recommendations. Perhaps the nettiquette as well. http://www.airbrushforum.org/threads/introducing-netiquette.8799/

There is absolutely no legal requirement for an introduction, as I said, as yet I have no equipment, I'm still in the process of trying to decide what's best for my situation which is not art related (yet), so there wouldn't be much to put in there, I have no intention of posting personal stuff since my private life will remain private, I don't need a shoulder to cry on or help getting a mortgage, but to give an idea of what I'm after, I take old items of period furniture and restore them them mostly chairs and such, I reupholster these in appropriate cloths/materials to make them look as they did when they were new, the purpose of seeking out an airbrush was to apply weathering/ageing effects to the exposed and repaired wooden parts before lacquering, I use a cheap HVLP gun for that.

But no problem, you have both made it very clear that I'm actually in the wrong place so I'll give you both what you want and just stop logging on, how's that?

hey bert your more then welcome here as is everyone on the web, sometimes we get a little touchy but we all mean well! we aren't here to know your private live if you share that thats up to you not us.As your looking thru the info in this forum it all free for anyone who logs on to the forum as you know so enjoy your time here but please don't start name calling as it puts people off on the wrong foot.

Bert

I get where you are coming from, and my comment is not about the vendor or OP.

On balance it's difficult to compare what you can get in one country to what you can get in another, regardless of postage and exchange rates and anyone who can use the internet can get the best deals within their own country or from outside, I live in France but buy some things from the UK, some from France, (iincidentally I think I'm about to buy something from NL) and if only we could get US prices.

In my view this forum is the tops, people are always willing to help and will try their best.

Just take a deep breath or sleep on it and continue to participate enjoy all this forum can offer.

Regards

Chris

Hi Chris

If your in France ordering from NL would certainly be an option in your case, Foxy studios, Lion art and one or two others frequently offer some great deals, especially when you are ordering several items at once, you can even email them before you order to find out just what they can do for you, depending on where you are in France you could even come here personally and pick up your stuff;)

My main concern with the poster of this thread is that he plugged the vendor twice which made it look suspicious, the fact that he hasn't been back since doing that only serves to confirm my suspicions, no disrespect to him or the vendor but as I said the prices are pretty ridiculous and I would hate to see anyone actually pay them when there are far better deals available, as you say sometimes better deals can be found outside of your own country even with the post taken into consideration, not to mention some items may only be available in other countries, I've just bought some daylight lamps from Italy which I couldn't find here unless I actually bought a job lot when I only wanted two, they were cheaper to and came with all the correct wiring and such.

It pays to shop around and this forum as you say is not only one the best but thanks to kindness of the folks here, almost every question has been answered and as such everything anyone could possibly want to know is already here:thumbsup:

Bert,

Thanks for the info re NL. The furniture restoration seems interesting, so post any tips.

Regards

Chris
