H R CRplus needle swapping problem

Hi ,

I am just starting my training at home and my CR 2 plus has been working great. I wanted to do some finer work so i swapped the 0.4 needle to the 0.15 as i just bought another needle 0.15 replacement for a bent tip.
I got bubbles in the cap and the cap is pretty tight on, so i swapped needles again back to 0.4 and everything fine. Then i put the nozzle side by side and on the tip under a magnifier its damaged at the top and split.
Is this my cause of my bubbling ? and Ill replace the needle tip.

Many thanks

Sounds like you should have bought a new nozzle to go with the needle.
When the needle bent on mine it took out the nozzle too. Use a jewelers loop to look at the nozzle I am almost sure you will find a crack in it.

To go from 0.15 to 0.4 you need needle, nozzle and nozzle cap. You can buy them in a complete set which work out cheaper than individually.

The damaged needle will affect your spray pattern, so def replace, but as Andre said if you aren't also changing the rest then the finer needle will leave space for air to get in which will cause the bubbling.

Hi yes, as i looked closer with a loop it was cracked, yes i should have bought both at once but did not check the nozzle as well, never mind i will get a replacement o.15 nozzle :) thank you .

Many thanks, i got the airbrush with two needle, nozzles, and caps.....but being new i probably was a bit rougher on that fine nozzle than i should have. Cheers.

Ta, that is really great to know, i had an underlying worry that the cracked needle nozzle was a separate problem with just spraying not the bubbling too. It does make sense that it would cause the bubbling as well.

Is there much of a difference in spray pattern from the 0.15 to the 0.2 as i was considering getting a spare 0.2 needle/nozzle as well as a new 0.15 nozzle
Many thanks.

To be honest those sizes are both for detail, and the fineness of lines etc is a lot to do with the skill of the person on the handle end :D The pros can get get a really fine line from a .5. I have a .23 micron, I chose it over the .18 as I can get really very fine detail at that size and be just that little bit more forgiving with paint reduction. I can get the same level of detail from my hp-cs eclipse however, which is a .35, but it is just a lot easier and smoother with the micron as its atomisation is so much better, and the trigger is more responsive. In your position I would be more inclined to go for the .2, as but that is just my opinion.

Yes thank you, I appreciate your opinion, I think I will get a 0.2 as well as replacing the 0,2 nozzle :) I have the time on my hands to practice and practice.

Time and practice will have you coming along in leaps and bounds, especially when you know your brush is 100%. Hope to see some of your practice posted up soon. Whether its a full on painting or fades and blends or dots, lines etc, its well worth posting your practice session results and experiments etc. You can get advice that could save a lot of time, or even just confirmation that you are on the right track can be a confidence boost and keep you motivated. A good way to monitor your progress is to try an image and date it, then try the same one again a couple of weeks later, then a month etc. It shows you are going in the right direction (in my case I started doing something similar a little later on as I wasn't sure I was progressing), and also can highlight areas to focus on to improve the next time you try, you can even just focus on one area of the image, and work on those techniques in particular. Its also nice to be able to look back and have a record of where you started, and compare to where you've got to. :)

If you go to 0.2 you only need a nozzle and a needle. You use the same nozzle cap as the 0.15.
