Old olympos new Olympos

Thanks. Curious to see what the needle is like.[/QUOTE superior packaging and a superior needle from pacific airbrush. Funny how they make the replacements out to be made out of tinfoil.

Other than the packaging, having you been using it for a while to test its strength/durability? All of the Olympos needles I've used (7) performed great until a routine attempt at cleaning tip dry always bent them.
I would love a harder needle with the same taper

I see...
When you will be changing please let us know if the nozzles are the same or not.

So I removed the .3 Olympos nozzle. It is the top one in the photo. Below it is a .2 Iwata for the older classic models. The threads are the same. I installed the .2 in the Olympos :)

Thanx for the info!
It's good Iwata old version HP nozzles fit Olympos as the difference in price of HP+ and old HP nozzle is 5 bucks for now.
Especially, one of these days one Olympos flew away off the QD and reached tiled studio floor. Result is changing both nozzles. One thing is good - needle is repaired. From nozzles I've made stippling tool.

Please describe the performance with 0.2 nozzle when you will try it.

.2 mm Iwata nozzle

Even with the original .3 nozzle cap & a .3 needle the Olympos hp-100c performs much better with the Iwata .2 mm nozzle in it. The photos above are about the extent of my ability to write small. Although I was able to achieve about the same size handwriting with both the .3 and .2, the lines are much crisper with less overspray with the .2 :)

The examples above are on regular printer paper which is absorbent. Better results should be possible on better paper

I see. Will try I think. I've got spare 0.2 Olympos nozzle.

In your lettering "M" is missing;)

After meeting the tiled studio floor nozzles of an AB looked like this.

1.JPG

I've cut bent needle tip in order maybe to save the nozzle when removing the needle, but the nozzle was damaged and I couldn't repair it.
Needle was sanded and polished later and it looks now better than new, you can see it on the photos.

2.JPG

From both bent nozzles I've made stippling tool. It works. But for better work with it the needle should be shorter as it's shown on the photo.

New parts for Iwata HP-C (old version, not Plus) arrived. Parts are for 0.3mm setup.
Parts are identical to Olympos original parts.

Nozzle fits perfectly and the needle fits in the nozzle perfectly either.

And now the AB is ready to spray again.

I definitely agree about the needles which are too soft and easily bent. I mean needles' tapers.
Can't say anything about the paint nozzles as I'm not a long time Olympos user.

Question to those who use Iwata and Olympos for a long time and could compare. Which brand nozzles last longer?
