Black fabric

Random question, when I try spray on black fabric (cotton for example) the paint doesn't show properly, even if I add no reducer to the paint. I'm using Wicked paint So far no other colour I've used has done it

I have no real experience but I do believe I read that putting a layer of transbase down before painting was a good idea? Who knows!

You have to put white down first. It's not a fabric problem it is a "on black" problem. Even if you paint on a black car you have to put white down first.

I did try do that and the white wasn't working so well either, that's why I was so confused

You either have to use thick paint at high pressure or seal the area you're going to work on with transparent base. But the white first is still a must.

After the transparent base, you heat set it.

Seal the shirt with transparent base or even better a top coat binder. With the binder just mist a few times while pressing then fibers in a downward direction while having a plastic sandwich baggy over your hand and the heat press for the 20 seconds at 350 degrees. Or with a clothing iron, but put a piece of parchment paper over the fabric and move the iron very slowly. After that paint your design with white as if you were only painting with white. Now you should be able to paint with color. Just don't flood the shirt with color. You can heat set between colors, but it is not absolutely necessary.
