Names Anthony, I'm an artist living in Cape Town where I have a studio space (shared with 4 other artists).
I'm working on ways to create the ideas in my head, to bring them to life.
I never had the opportunity to study art but life + curiosity is a great teacher.
As a kid I drew alot, mostly intricate geometrical designs, later I started with oil paints when a friend loaned me his bag of oil paints and I fell in love. I have worked in acrylics too and I love working with texture - I used to embed river sand and quartz gravel in my work. 2 years back I figured out how to cut and work with glass because I had some ideas for double reflective sculptures I wanted to make (based on metatrons cube).
The same friend who loaned me his oils also had an airbrush which I was hoping to get into someday - never quite happened but what I'm doing now is quite interesting.
About 3 months back I designed some pieces with a distinctive and original theme and set out to figure out how to create them. I have subsequently learned to spray-paint, and have been working with 2k paints and epoxy resin, as well as molding pieces for the work to save on time.
I came across this forum while hunting for ppl who could help brainstorm ideas and assist with some issues I'm struggling with - it's quite a mission doing things in non-ordinary ways, especially when you are working it alone.
I believe I cannot post images yet, so when I can I will
