So I've always used parma faskolor paints and never have had an issue but due to the lack of availability of parma I switched to wicked and can't get it to stay. I have tried everything, less coats, adding 4030, scuffing, heat, no heat, waiting 12 hrs between coats nothing works. Any help would be appreciated!!

No new Ideas, But thanks for the warning!! Used to work for Federal Sign and the painter there could make anything work! I really am not sure if he was human? I'll try and get in contact with him for his input. It might have been the solvent he used to prep with, don't really know.

You didn't mention much on prep.....You are washing the bodies then wiping with alcohol as @JackEb suggested right?
I tried some wicked on
clear PC (lexan), HDPE, and PET last night and it has zero issues and you can bend it in half without any problem as long as its on the spots I wiped with a prep pad.
There must be some factor that is different for you.......
Is there any point where either the paint or bodies are being allowed to be very cold?
Is the humidity low?....static can be a factor if so.
What are you reducing with?
How does it come off, Is the paint peeling, cracking, or rubbing off?

On most molded lexan you have a release agent use in the mold. A lot of time simple washing will not take it all off. I also suggest using Bull Dog Adhesion promoter on all plastic /lexan to aid in the paint binding to the piece.

Bulldog supposedly cracks thin lexan upon drying. which is why I've never done it and their own literature also says not to use it on lexan.
Otherwise I'm with you, I use it on most plastics.

The rc's I have done have been 10mill cast which are pretty thick .I have never had one crack on me .

Well there ya go..... worked for you. I've never put it on an RC body specifically but i have seen it crack quite a few plastics to pieces.
Like 1/16 to an 1/8th thick

Hmm guess it likes me or it might be I only use a mist coat.
Probably the light mist, I was just taught to keep it well away from any clear plastics and anything else that might be in the polystyrene family, to demonstrate the effects in an exaggerated way they slapped some on a headlight , and by the next day it looked like it had been hit with a baseball bat. Heavy coat of course.

and these are from their data sheet
9. Bulldog should not be used on Lexan® or polystyrene surfaces.
10. Bulldog is not compatible with enamel paints.

But if it works, hey, Im not one to always follow directions either LOL.
I may have to try using it real lightly on something.

I have also used Dupli-color adhesion promoter and it states safe for all automotive plastics and lexans .
But acetone and keytones will melt lexan if it is put on to heavy .

I was impressed with the tests I did ,Just wiped with an alcohol prep pad and sprayed wicked with reducer ,a nice thick coat on. It all stuck really well. So I don't know whats going on with his car bodies, Its gotta be some sort of external factor I would think Or maybe some bad paint. If hes prepping them well.

Dupli-clor might just be my replacement for bulldog if it works well and its safe on everything. It would be one less thing to think about.

It could be the paint has gotten frozen at some time or the temps are to cold .

Thanks for the dupli-color tip! says its compatible with enamel too!
And all metal and plastic surfaces.
I will have to try some, If the performance is as good as bulldog then I'm in

It performs as well and cost less LOL . I used it on a plastic trash can about 6 years ago that sits out in all kind of weather and the paint job is still holding up well.

Thats especially impressive in your weather, assuming your weather is similar to ohios. Cold is the worst for paint on plastic.
Thanks! ABS will be my big test.

well Indiana and Ohio are about the same LOL It has been through -20 last winter and over 100 this summer and not even a flake off the paint job.
