Hello everyone and thank you for reading me,

In search of realism in the portraits ... in this case of people ... I would like advice to achieve realism for example as the great teacher in this post:

http://www.airbrushforum.org/threads/airbrush-tutor-eye-self-portrait.10037/

He talks about templates ... but I do not know how to do them. For example, if I cut a line on a piece of paper, when I apply paint with the airbrush, it does not go through the template

I want realism ... and I know that you will help me. If you can put pictures of examples and templates much better ..

Thank you very much

Get a photocopy of the eye and cut out the darkest are to use as a map, lightly spray some skin tone or what ever colour you want.
Create iris by erasing layers and using different Transparent paints to get depth

No...I would like to know only the eyebrows and eyelashes...the technical.
Thank you very much

If you are cutting a piece of paper to spray through to make the small hairs, you probably aren't opening the slit enough, you need to pull the sides of your cut apart to allow paint to get through, you can also cut it such that you have an opening instead of just one cut, I personally would cut a curve out of two pieces of paper and hust overlap the two pieces to get the correct width and length I might need, if this is to hard to do you can also use water colour pencils in the appropriate colour.

There are many options here.
For Eyebrows:
painting through pieces of stripped electrical wire.
Pencils
Regular brushes , especially those intended to make fur (these can make eyelashes too)

Eylashes are typically done using the "dagger stroke"
but you can use stencils.

Search on here for "stencils" instead of "templates"

Thank you very much. Could you put a picture of how you would do it?

I don't generally use a stencil or shield when rendering eyelashes or eyebrows. With practice you'll develop the control to do small, very fine dagger strokes. Having said that, there's absolutely nothing wrong with using a stencil, shield, pencil or hairy brush either. Sometimes a mix yields better results in my opinion (paint a few with a cut stencil and a few freehand). Using more than one technique gives a more organic end result in my opinion.

If you're shooting for realism, one of the most important things in my book is paying attention to which direction each hair flows whether you're rendering lashes or brow hairs. Paint what you see in your reference!

What is suggested here is the right approach and needs you to apply it and practice it. Youtube is also a great resource, look for step by steps. Airbrushtutor has some good ones on his website. I can also heartily recommend spending a wee bit of coin and purchase the eye step by step from airbrushtutor.com as it covers exactly that in the tutorial. Another option is Dru Blair's eye tutorial. If you don't want to spend the coin start practicing with these guidelines and you will work it out.
