finally

hey yeah sorry pressed enter by mistake.
I'm originally from NZ but now living in Perth AU
so after years of thinking about air brushing and watching a lot of youtube videos (like a lot) I finally decided and just ordered a badger 155 anthem.
I grew up doing a lot of graf and murals and now I want to try my hand at airbrushing t shirts just for myself.

as I have never touched an air brush before I have a lot of questions i.e compressors and paint mainly.
I plan on using Createx paint but haven't decided on a compressor, not much choice in Perth unless i get a $500 silent compressor.

but anyway just needed a new hobby and thought I'd jump on here and get as much help as I could.
Thanx in advance

Welcome to the forum. :) I am also having fun with spraying t-shirts, but I went with wicked instead of regular createx.

Hey yeah wasn't too sure about wicked but if works I'll try it,how does spray and what psi are you running

Wicked is design for almost any surface you want to spray it on. For T-shirt art you want at least 40 to 50 PSI so it really gets into the fibers of the shirt but you can also reduce it and paint a car .

I am running close to 60 psi. I got yesterday soft springs which can run max 58psi without air leaking, so I will need to put pressure down a little. I will probably go to 55.

I went with wicked, cause they are working nice on t-shirt + like Mr.Micron sad, you can use them on any surface, so you are not limited only with t-shirts. They say, I didn't try, that regular createx are harder for new airbrushers, cause they don't flow so nice like wicked. I didn't try it though.
I have a lot of tip dry on my psi, and have few ways to deal with it. For example how I deal with clog when I am lazy is: I just shot it out full power on a piece of paper... Don't know if that is the right way, but for now, it works for me...

Do take my posts with a big grain of salt, cause I am new to this.

How does it spray straight out of bottle as I plan on using fast blast caps on the actual paint so with out reduction as I would not have a s#%t load of bottles that would have to discarded after so many hours.

I use eclipse bcs and eclipse sbs. But I love bcs for t-shirts. That beast can shoot anything out. I do use sbs for my practise on paper.

I was looking at the bcs but thought it might be a bit too advanced for me but if all goes well I should be painting in the next week or so and see if it is me too advanced for my airbrush
