I've been playing with a new additive

I can actually get this uniform and tiny, or non-unform like you see here, or super small and subtle . Almost looks like a pile of tiny ferns.
Fun! Cant wait to do some different colors and clearcoat some.

Definitely more impressive in person...really plays with your eyes

That’s a very cool finish! It’s a pretty unique looking texture, almost looks like ground metal to begin with. Very cool, some Candy over the top could be an interesting way to go.

How is done, it looks amazing, as mentioned, candy over that might awesome, it would be a cool effect on guitar:thumbsup:

Tip: When you make video with your phone, why not turn the phone "landscape" at least until I buy my new laptop and UHD television with vertical screens:)

A guitar is an awesome shout Malky. A kind of painted cracked mirror effect. [emoji1303][emoji1303].

I love guitars with cool effects on them, rather than the boring so called sunburnt efforts which are more at home on a violin or double base or even "F" holed guitars, I was after a snake skin effect in copper Ibanez guitar but it wasn't available left handed, the bastards:mad:

That sounds cool! I can appreciate a nice transparent finish that shows some grain, but also really dig finishes that Paul Stanley might say are garish LOL.
That sucks about the no left handed variant though, I guess I never think of that as I’m a righty. Some would say a right righty at that!

Yes, unfortunately left handed have been considered "the devil's work" since time began, rightly so when you consider the Latin for left hand is "sinister manus" I've been called that a few times, so it's no surprise that we should be punished by only being allowed to have a scabby black or shiitty brown sunburst guitar, although Ibanez were kind to me and allowed me a purple sunburst over tiger skin maple wood which is quite nice to look at:) but I was onky allowed this if I bought it in Germany, is there a message in there do you think?o_O

Candy probably would be cool! I was thinking last night about maybe doing a trans yellow over blue or green with the effect , or the same with blue and red or layering two complementary colors. Which could either make a really cool shifty kinda deal or just look like total butt. I have no idea which.
Strangely enough I hadn't thought of candy.

LOL, I'll keep that in mind.
Guitar would be cool! I'll look around for a junker.

Thanks for the positive feedback guys!, I wanna do green, and then try some things with trans or candies as suggested and then actually get it on something. Maybe I'll buy a garbage helmet or guitar to play with.

As a mostly leftie myself, I feel for you. Don't play guitar myself, but yeah it sucks when you see all sorts of really cool stuff available for righties and not much for lefties.

Try finding a left handed pedal steel guitar. They are made but those that have them must hold on to them since you rarely see any for sale. Also you hardly ever hear of a steel with the pedals anywhere but on the left side. I play the steel and I have a prosthetic left leg. I have bought over time 4 pedal steels and converted them to the right side for the good leg. The last on I bought, the steel maker said that would not be a problem with the way he makes his and I bought one from him. Beautiful steel but if I ever decide to sell it, I probably couldn't because of the pedals on the right side.
Now if I could just play it like it is supposed to be played would be miracle.

I did actually build my own left handed lap steel slide guitar, I'm sure you've already seen it Richard but in case you haven't it's here

And here is a photo of it in the case I also made for it

I would love to own a pedal steel guitar just for display because of how beautiful that are.

I bet that one has good sustain since the strings go through the body. Also I bet it sounds good too. Very nice setup. What are you tuned to???
I like C6 on a lap steel. I also have made a couple of lap steels but nothing as nice as yours. I have one set up for Open E and one C6th. I watch a lot of Youtube players that are over your way and some are very good. Quite a few in Australia also that are excellent. I use a volume pedal with the laps but can't with the pedal steels. They make a volume control that is attached to a hat and you move your head for the swells but they are expensive and since I don't play that well, it would be useless to spend the money for one. With my memory anymore, I can't remember how a song goes, so I don't try to play them much anymore.:cry:

Mine is open E, since I had never played one before I had to keep it simple, it sounds really nice, there is a video of me trying to play it on the thread I linked, the guy in the first video in the thread gave me very positive critique on it, sound as well as build, it was a fun project.

I think any Trans or Candy over top would make an awesome Guitar finish left or right handed LOL.
Obviously it wouldn’t be limited to guitar bodies, Helmets would look pretty Badass with this finish too.

That video is Doug Beaumier who is very good. I have thought at times to order some of his lessons and programs. Still might some day.
Get yours out if you still have an amp and make a quick video of you playing it.:thumbsup:
I would like to hear how is sounds and how well you play it.

There is a video of me playing it on page 4 of that same thread:) but it was the first time I played it, to save you time looking, here it is.

I do still have an amp, I have VOX VT20+ which has built in effects including reverb/sustain, auto wah and just about every effect possible, it also has buikt in tuner and can mimic 33 different famous amplifiers, it's amp used in this video.
