I maked a airbrush stand thingy :)

Well I do believe I'm more or less ready to actually get to paint something now, I spent the day yesterday searching of some items I didn't yet have, mainly a water bottle, spray out jar and an airbrush stand, I found the jar which is basically a jam jar I bought empty for one pound ninety five (sorry can't find the pound sign on my pc:(), I should have just bought effing the jam and cleaned the jar since a jar of ready made jam was only a pound:eek: too late now, obviously they will give you the same jar for a pound less if you just let them manky it up with disgusting apricot jamo_O I'm actually rolling around with laughter here right now because I can't believe what I've just done, I know for sure if my sister in law finds out she'll give me a dead shoulder then tell me she would have given me one of hers when it was empty, I really am a tit.:confused:

Also managed to find a squeeze bottle for clean water, no big story there thank God:thumbsup:

Now I just had to find some way to claw back some of the pound I wasted on the bastard jam jar, having never missed an episode ever of Blue Peter I can be pretty inventive when the need arises, so I had a good rummage around the house and came up with this;
Me airbrush stand 2.jpg
I'm quite chuffed with this, as you can see it's just pieces of old MDF, one piece of 9 mm MDF for the top with a whole drilled by mean of a 3/4" fast cutter drill bit, the thing that looks like a bolt under the brush is actually the top part of my pistol grip moisture trap:) it fits in there perfectly snug with no movement, the sides of the stand are just scrap pieces of 2.5 mm MDF, it's all held together with fast drying epoxy glue, I might (but probably won't) paint it:)

Now I'm all set and good to go, just need to choose what to paint now, I had my mind set on a tiger but it seems to be tiger season right now and a few are doing them so I'll have to have look for something else methinks.

@Malky Maybe you should paint the airbrush stand. You're looking for a subject, right? Maybe flames and a few skulls. o_Olollol

lol That's not going to happen, I did think of painting it black and puting iwata in yellow on both sides, but that will only be when I'm stuck for something to do:)

Just grab a bottle of paint and unscrew the top like you are putting paint in the cup and shake real hard beside it. Then it won't look brand new but like you've had it for a long time. Been there, done that. :eek:lollollollol
Fantastic job. Will have a look at it when we Skype this week.

I have done exactly the same with the jam jars mate.. made me chuckle to think I wasn't the only 'tit' who did it. I now have several tubs of jam or marmalade in the fridge. 39p from Aldi could have saved you 60p. The stand looks great too. So you have everything you need now then? What paint you got?

39p ffs, thats even worse, how the ***k can they fill a 2 quid jar full of sugar and then sell it for 39p, that defies all logic:eek: you do that jam and marmalade are actually preserves and don't actually need to take up space in your fridge? :) I don't eat the stuff otherwise I might have been a bit wiser to this catastrophe, but at least I saved a few bob by not buying an iwata spray pot:thumbsup::)

At the moment I've got Golden paints, just 28ml bottles of white, carbon black, primary yellow, red, blue and burnt umber, these are just to get me started and give me time to hunt down and wait for delivery of Com-Art paints which I would rather have, I found Com-Art easiest to work with but do like Golden as a back up, I also bought a 30ml bottle of liquitex carbon black to experiment with at some point, although whenI lifted the bottel in the shop I thought it was Daler Rowney:confused: they were all right next to each other.

Hey @Malky , I use liquitex, they works great, I use the same mix of 97% h2o and 3% glycerin that I use with Com-Art and don’t have almost any tip-dry and I live in a place with 30-40% humidity!
