For those that have used the newer fx packs that house of kolor offers what have you found gives the best bling? I was wanting to add some extra pop but the pictures dont show much difference in what they do.

cant help you Goose, but the fact that the thread title is tagged 'solved' probably isn't helping. maybe ask admin/mod to remove it for you

I would help also if I knew which of the 6 you want to know about.
I have used the Metajuls and the kameleon out of them for different jobs but no really sure what you mean by bling.
To me the Bling comes in when it is all done and cleared and sitting in the sun.

I have only used the FX 66 Medeci oh and what ever I fix pack they put in the K BC base coats. I was looking for something with notas much shine as metalflake but more than a simple pearl or metallic

They have ultra fine flake , Fine medium and coarse . The ultra fine has more dance to it them the metallic as does the fine but either of them are not over bearing for the base ,

I have used a few of their FX packs and really like the Metajuls for pop. What I like about it is it gives a very low build up and doesn't require a lot of clear like a lot of flakes do. It's very controllable as well. What I do is lay down a base coat in the same color of the Metajuls first. I then mix a corresponding HOK Kandy with Metajuls. With a solid base, I can then just dust the Kandy/Metajuls mix or lay it on heavy for a metal flake look. It's incredible in the sun. P1020880.JPG P1020896.JPG P1020897.JPG

Hey now ya that is what I'm talking about. Look like scaled down flake almost.
So in the picture you have above you sprayed an oriental blue as a solid base then a kk with metajul over the top? your not using kbc's i take and just straight kk.

This picture shows how subtle you can paint the Metajuls. I shot the canopy of this plane with black HOK. I then mixed red Metajuls with HOK Kandy and just dusted it lightly over the black. In low light it looks black, but in the sun you see a red flash. P1020784revised.jpg

You have a good eye. Yes that is HOK Oriental Blue base. The Kandy is HOK regular KK mixed into SG100 intercoat clear with Metajuls added. As you can see, in some light, you can see the green cast of the Oriental Blue and in others, the blue Metajuls show as straight blue.

In this view it shows a little bit of both. You can see a bit of green in the X in Xareltoo, but the main wings show mostly straight blue from the Metajuls.

This canopy was shot the same way as the blue. I started out with HOK black and shot a fairly heavy coat of red KK with red Metajuls in SG100 over the black. P1020911.JPG

I'm not seeing that oriental blue as a basecoat option. it seems like it is just a kbc. Did you use the kbc and then shoot the sg100 with kk over the top or anotherbase coat option out there like a bc or hs

Ah okay thought you were using a solid color base but the kbc is kinda transparent. I love me oriental blue though
