Connecting Aztek Airbrush to Compressor

Hi everyone. I've recently picked up building models (and RC) and have ventured into using an air brush setup. I am having an issue with the setup I am hoping someone may be able to help with.

I bought this Testors Aztek airbrush (or one very similar, with the propellant included): http://web4.hobbylinc.com/gr/tes/tes4034.jpg

And it works great, I love it. Once I finished the can of propellant, I thought I would be smart and I bought this Testors Aztek compressor, to avoid having to keep buying these cans of propellant: http://www.testors.com/~/media/Digi...ants/compressor/50204A_front_highres_240.ashx

Well, turns out it is a different fitting, and won't connect. The compressor has a larger fitting than that of the propellant can. Is there an adapter I can get for this? I have spent time looking around stores, and online and can't seem to find what I need, but I also don't know what it might be called, or what the fitting names are these have. I suspect I simply need a better air brush(?)

Any advice is greatly appreciate. Thanks in advance!

Ryan

Do you have that black adapter on top? And does your hose look like the one in the picture?

You should not have bought that "compressor". They are just fish tank pumps. Anyway, I think it is a 1/4" thread on the compressor and the hose is 1/8" so you just need an adapter. Most hardware stores should have them. If you can show your equipment side by side it can help.

The hose looks just like that, with what looks like the identical connector, yes. The compressor doesn't have that black adapter though, seems like just what I need! (?)

Here is a picture of the components I have. Thanks!

Sorry, then I do not know. My Aztek hose is 1/4" at the one end and you do get adapters to step it down to 1/4" which is what most airbrush accessories are.
No worries, thanks for the help. I appreciate it.

Don't know where you are in the world, but these guys do a variety of connectors, and list aztek so may be worth a look.
Hi Squishy, thanks for the link. I did find this site in my travels for a solution. I suppose the challenge I have is I don't know specifically what I need, other than to say 'a connector for my Aztek airbrush to my Aztek compressor' which isn't very helpful in technical terms. I see a few adapters for NPT>>BPS, etc though I don't know if BPS is what I need. Is that what the Aztek hose connector is? Anyways I am very new to this so still trying to sort it all out. I still find it weird the Aztek airbrush doesn't connect to the Aztek compressor. Anyways, appreciate the link, I'll scrub the site some more!

Here's what you do. Call them and ask what the deal is.

Ha, now I feel like an idiot. I hadn't even considered that.....

I'll post back results.

Thanks,

Well, after finally getting ahold of the correct support area (seems the Aztek brand has no support in Canada) I reached someone who knew exactly what I needed, and is sending the adapter out today, free of charge. She said most Aztek kits come with the adapter, however the one I have doesn't. :/

Anyways, thanks for the help everyone. Now off to learn how to airbrush :)
