Mac-Valve Maestro!
Hello name's Todd, living in Lauderdale by the Sea. Somewhat newby airbrusher, though probably started a decade ago, trying to work out of an apartment and being terribly unorganized I didn't get to far with it, using a bcs eclipse I finally bought a iwata duel power jet... and it sat for 7 years or so as I started a resurfacing company(painting tubs/counter/cabinets) that has occupied all my time.
For some back round I'm a painter/body man by trade, I started working in body shops as a teen in the mid 80's, then taking vocational automotive body repair in high school, never was much of a bolt turner but took to body work and painting, base coat/clear coats was just coming in, lacquers were going out. Also worked painting houses(int/ext) and some faux finishing.
Left the body shop in the mid 90's and got a job as a painter at a large exterior sign shop, that went into being a color matcher, then they had a creative systems part and because I could bondo I helped on some interesting projects for coke and luxor hotel, started helping sculpting foam/hdu, eventually went into the graphics/designer part learning PS/illustrator and Flexi Sign, also learned some hand paining sign skills and did some walls. Had 14 years in the biz.
So for the last month I've been airbrushing, I think I got a lot of problems out of the way over the years with the gun itself after destroying 20 or so nozzles, learned to be more gentle, got some proper cleaning tools, I've mostly painted some of my foam sculptures and a couple body paints over time. I now have a small warehouse and a workspace, hoping to put some of my body/sign experience together and do some art, at the moment I have no clear focus where I'm going with it so for now just for fun, look forward to learning.
Looking to buy another gun but for now I have -
Iwata dual power jet pro
Iwata eclipse hp-bcs
Paasche (I think) VL
Iwata Lph-80 (just bought)
For the moment using Golden airbrush paints and Endura body paints.
Thanks for looking :alien:
