Thank you all for the VERY warm welcome. I am very excited to be able to learn from you all. I have wanted to learn an art that I can consider a trade for a long time. This is going to be a really great adventure, and I hope that I can learn the skills while maintaining some creativity.

man your already an artist.... just a different method of laying paint... or for an airbrushing perspective, i like to think of it as layering shades...

you will succeed if you practice... and dont get hung up when it goes wrong.... keep going and one day everything will just click.... im still waiting for mine to click but im having fun trying haha

Well I have a couple of commissions I have to knock out between now and April 20, so I am just hoping to find some time to open this all up and get working. It sounds like there is much less fallout or overspray or what do you call it when you spray paint in the garage and all of your cars end up with a nice new clear coat from you painting? I would like to paint indoors if I can, but will this be a garage art for me?

i paint in my kitchen... it all depends on what size a gun your laying paint with and what your actually painting with.... you get water based paints and solvent based... indoors definitely waterbased brother (auto air, wicked, createx to name a few) ... plus if your work is more detail stuff the overspray will rarely be enough to leave the panel your working on due to the lower psi your working at.... i can paint in my kitchen no worrys and only ever need to wash the floor because im a clumsy critter ;)

Perfect. I really think that the best art is done when you are the most comfortable. I get way way more done when I am comfortable. I used to do a lot of work on a WACOM Cintiq, but it was a drag to get myself to go to the room I had it in and lock myself at a table. I bought an ipad pro when they came out and do 10x the work I used to do on the cintiq just because I can take it on the airplane, sit on the couch etc. I think airbrushing inside vs in my garage is going to be a similar comparison.

sure man... i would still wear a mask and have good ventilation and crap but yeah it works ok... and although its waterbased dont use water to reduce it... trust me use the appropriate reducer for whichever brand of paint you use.... strange things happen when water gets involved... whether it seperates in the cup... or it turns into a big gloopy mess that clogs everythin up (i found the later by just rinsing my airbrush with a spot of water i was using for wicked detail paints) my god it was a nightmare... so as long as you remember to use the right additives with the right paint it will work far better aswell

Welcome aboard! Nice work on "skull boy/link" my daughter LOVES Zelda! and is currently spending a lot of time on the new game ;)
