i use iwata hp-ch (0.35mm) and 2.5hp compressor

tell me the best paint for kicks plz:):)

Wicked line is your best bet, It is more design to cover any surface from textile(canvas) to metal but prep work on the leather will be the main factor on having the paint job last a long time.

prep work means remove coated on leather ?

Very basically Createx Colours are textile paint Wicked is a multi surface paint and Illustration is for fine art.

They can cross over and be used for other things, but that is what they are more specifically for.

I have used Wicked on canvas and leather, it works well.

Your English is good by the way :)

I personally would stick to Createx Wicked. It is semi opaque and would give better adhesion on leather and canvas. Wicked detail is the Wicked transparent line, so if you used Wicked and add transparent base you will end up with a paint similar to the detail line with the addition of some reducer.

As for the Createx Illustration paint it wouldn't be as flexible to use on leather or sneakers, but would be fine for your canvas with an easier ability to erase into.

E'Tac PS would be good for leather and shoes. You can use it in canvas, but it doesn't work for scratching and erasing. It also can be reduced with distilled water so there is no need for special reducers.

The illustrations line also has a flex agent you can add into the paint, just another option

Yes, basically it allows the paint to flex so it does not crack

In my opinion, I like E'Tac PS better than Wicked for textile painting. There is something about the consistency of the paint and the fact that there is practically no tip dry. I found that Wicked over the years looses the effect of the solvent in the paint and begins to act like any other acrylic based paint. The older it got the more I needed reducer with solvent to get it to spray nice. Also Wicked only came in 1 ounce or 16 ounce bottles and I don't need 16 ounce bottles sitting around to go bad on me. Now if your sitting in a shop spraying away all day and burn through the paint quickly than it may be more cost effective.

Everyone has their preferences, so why not just get one bottle of each in opaque, and do some tests.

I prefer Wicked, I have used it on leather and fabric baseball hats, and I see a leather jacket around that I painted over 3 years ago that looks as good as new, and my hubs has a cap around the same age. The colours haven't faded at all. I used the Wicked reducer with them (not too much as don't want to make it too thin for coverage) and that helps it dry quickly, and gives a tougher cure, which seems to help a lot on leather. I use that paint on all surfaces so am very used to it, and tip dry is not an issue for me.

But lots of people like E'tac too, and the PS is their version of a multi surface paint. I think a side by side test on an old shoe and then wearing it and putting it under some different conditions will show what would best suit your needs. :)

Have you ever use the Wilsons Leather paint? It's really really good for hand painting sneakers I'm going to try thinning it out and spraying it on soon. But I imagine doing your base painting with the Wilsons and then Wicked on top may be pretty decent combination

I have not tried Wilson's leather paint on any of the items I have painted. But I use to use it when I did a lot of leather working.

Be careful some paints are not ground fine enough even when reduced to flow through an airbrush depending on you nozzle size. For instance Golden High Flow is made for airbrushing with a .5mm needle nozzle setup.

I would be hesitant laying a base coat of some paint and the toppings with Wicked. The solvent in Wicked may not play nice. I would go with Wicked like I said and when it is cured give a top coat of Krylon Clear with UV resistance. That's what I have used on leather jackets and it works great.

The Wilson's has seemed to play nice with other mediums so far. Guessing most of them were some type of solvent based paint marker, who knows what to be honest. But I'll let you know when I try with the wicked. Plus I usually buy them by the case at Palmyra flea market. Their new York knockoff Nikes. People don't really wear them they're more display type sneakers. So the odds of them being actual leather are pretty slim
