omg. I moved my lighting and I have finger prints. hmmmm . do I need to wear latex gloves? I was putting up my sheet via 24mm masking tape, put up my planets and sprayed my black. moved my lights and WHAM !!! right in the eyeballs!! 4 fingers running left to right and underneath a thumb... it is where I was holding it up to put on the tape. lol... the end of the brush handle is pointed at my ring finger you can see them if you look in the pic but in life wow it stands out. ... so with that said paint wont cover , so do I erase? 5 million grit sand paper? knife? . hmmm
I am painting on 22"x28" white boards and using the smooth side.
wicked detail black reduced with x-20a Tamiya at 1 part paint to 3 parts reducer

First that is not the correct reducer for the paint. Not all reducer that is made for water based paint will interact with one another .
It also may have not been fully cured when you touched it .

I am aware thee reducer is incorrect but it is all I could access. I have an order coming on Thursday with
Primary Wicked detail Set
Secondary Wicked detail set
8 oz black/white wicked detail
(4012): extra reducer 8 oz createx
Eclipse CS
extra needle/nozzle .35
conversion set .50
adapter to paashe hose/quick connect set and an extra mail adapter
the prints are from when I put up the sheet originally. then I painted (24hrs ago) as I have not touched the sheet since I started painting.

White boards? Like illustration boards?

There are times of the year where my hands sweat more than others, and produce enough oils to leave finger prints on everything. When I am working on Synthetic papers, I tend to rub them down with windex after I have taped them in place, and if I need to lay a hand on the surface for any an y amount of time, I try to remember to use a piece of paper underneath my hand. When working on hot pressed papers, or illustration board, I usually use alcohol to wipe them down prior to painting - and same thing, if I am laying a hand on it for more than just a second or so, I try to lay paper down...

On your project, you are kind of jammed up, because the prints are under the painted surface now. If you use anything to remove the oil residue of the print, you will most likely disturb the paint - so short of recovering with an opaque layer, they may still show.

yeah I was thinking that. I am thinking I may be able to hide it by putting a small galaxy over it. maybe the stippling will make it had to notice.

It's all a learning process, You might try using a tack rag and then spray over it again and hope it covers them up

The correct reducer will help the paint dry, depending on the reduction ratio, you can sometimes literally see it flash of as you are painting. Blowing just air over the surface will help too if needed.

I did not touch the piece after I painted, the prints are there from the original mounting of the paper. I have gotten a package of latex gloves for the handling of paper before it is painted and I will probably use them to handle the finished pieces as well.. .... my theory is if there is no chance of it happening it wont happen.

Oh, ok. I didn't realise that. That's a weird one, I haven't had that happen. Gloves will help, might be a bit awkward if masking sticks to them maybe?

for now I am using green painters masking tape. my next order will have proper mask, I live in a small town in the northern mountains of British Columbia. not a lot of choice up here unless you like testor. thanks to http://www.airbrushforum.org/members/maple-art.3364/ my order will be delivered tomorrow. YEAH!!!

If it was opaque paint i would try either sanding it or apply some reducer on a rag andt ry to smoothen it and blend it in and respray you can definitely get rid of it or greatly refuce the impact it has on your painting... Or do what you said and cover it and use the texture in your benefit.

I hate wearing gloves so i usually put a piece of masking tape on the tips of my fingers to prevent things like this from happening.
