In your opening post you mention painting cars and planes. I suggest looking up doctor cranky on youtube. He does lots of cool airbrush techniques on model cars and such. A great learning resource for modeling. In fact it was Dr Cranky that got me into this airbrushing thing
Thank you. I shall look him up. However, that was in my younger days before a failed carpal tunnel surgery of my right hand which left me with 30% use when it doesn't go numb. I'll be working on a bigger scale. Time will tell if can do minute detail.

Good Morning All!
Thank you for the warm welcomes. I'm loving the recommended videos. I realize now my little Paasche D500 compressor is not going to do the job. Ordered a California compressor so I can get started. It'll be here next week. In the meantime, I've printed out the exercises and set - up my spray booth. Thanks for having me here. Like a kid at Christmas, I'll be stalking the UPS driver for my compressor.

First and foremost welcoming me to the forum!!! Excellent crew of knowledgeable artists here!!! I've been away from the forum for a while but looking to slow down a bit so I should be frequenting more often once again!! So welcome and we're glad to have ya!!!

Looks like you got an excellent airbrush to learn with! Now I did notice you said the D3000 air compressor won't work? Why so? I run the Paasche D3000-50 for at least 8 years now with not a single issue!! The D3000R I have heard some bad reviews on but it should suffice just for airbrushing, but you shouldn't be disappointed with a California compressor as they're great!

So again welcome aboard!!!!

+1 on Doctor Cranky... guy does some awesome work and I think he does a good job of explaining techniques.

Ah, yes. I'm familiar. The nighttime soft braces sure help me. I know folks who have had both done with amazing results. I wish you well.

Welcome from South Africa :) The Iwata Eclipse is amazing :) I've had mine for a few weeks, it's a brilliant airbrush
