Hello. Just joined up to try and learn more about certain aspects of an art medium I wish to persue.

In the late 80's in school I worked with an airbrush for painting. A decade later I had all but forgotten that and moved into computer graphics. Now I've come full circle and am interested in picking up the airbrush again, however the style that has my attention the most is using candy colors over ground aluminum.

That would be the source of my first question: Other than how to work with candy colors and the tools involved with using those paints, are there any experts here that have done extensive work with using abrasives on aluminum that are willing to answer some questions? If so, which section of the forum would be appropriate for that topic?

Thanks. :)

Hey @Neural welcome from New Zealand. When @Squishy wakes up I'm sure she'll jump all over this, maybe @Nada as well. General Airbrush discussion might be OK or Open Bar section for your questions.

Welcome from Australia.
I'd go with the 'general airbrush discussion' section for your question. I suggest something like 'Candy 2.0 over ground aluminium questions' as the thread title to grab the right members attention. @Squishy and @Nada will be front of the pack for sure.

Thanks. :) It will be interesting to try and relearn about painting with an airbrush. My memory is horrible, but if I recall, I was using a Paasch VST and what I think may have been one of Badger's first air compressors.

Welcome Neural from the UK :) Which corner of the world is yours? I don't have a ton of experience, but I have done a fair amount of testing and think I've gotten to grips with it. Start your new thread and I'll pop over and see if I can be any help.

Welcome to the forum, as pointed out squishy and Nada are the ones you want to talk to.nada has a few live feeds on his facebook page doing some ground aluminum also
