Hi to all ...

PogArt

Detail Decepticon!
My friend has invited me to join this group as I'm willing to learn airbrushing ...
Probably I will fail or cry a lot, as I've never even hold an airbrush before...
Please bear it in mind, and forgive me stupid questions on this forum...
Best regards from U.K.

Hi there @PogArt that is a truly honest response. So lets start with welcome from New Zealand. Airbrush is a solid learning curve and there is nothing to beat practice. Breathe in, breathe out, this is fun!

Check out airbrushtutor.com for a whole heap of starter information and great starter exercisers. Dots and lines and daggers are your friends. If you don't have any gear there are plenty of guidelines here. To avoid the tears, avoid cheap "beginners" sets. Get a reasonable brush, a reliable compressor with a tank and real airbrush paints, the rest is pretty much up to availability.

Is your friend a member here? Which part of the UK are you in? Do you have any art background?

Failure is not an option. As for crying , if that's how you relieve frustration then go right ahead.
Never held an airbrush before ? Welcome to the best thing around. None of us were born with an airbrush in our hand so you're in good company.
Marks got you off on the right foot
There no such thing as stupid questions but looking through the varying sections of the forum like 'beginners airbrush' questions and 'troubleshooting' will show you that you are not alone :)

If you don't succeed at first try, try again and again! I'm a noob also. Think of it as a new adventure to discover wondrous things and to create the insane thoughts that run thru your mind. I cant wait to see what you come up with. Good Luck and keep on keepin' on !

Welcome to the forum from Colorado. I'm a rank beginner as well to painting on paper, but pretty comfortable with model kits.

Hi ;)
Cheers for keen welcome.
Actually I didn't ask him whether is he a member or not? Lol ;)
He did mention that it is good place for me to start off ;)
I've started about three years ago drawing with graphite pencils..,and this year I started learning pastel pencils...
Using colours is something new to me but I like it a lot more, than drawing within shadows only ;)
Airbrushing has jumped into my mind about two weeks ago...
I'm totally scared but at the same time totally sold to it ?!
Will see how things goes lol ;)
Thank you !

Cheers !

The replies disappears somewhere? Lol ;)
I hope I'll get use to how to post my reply correctly, lol ;)
I have found many different options in here, I even have found some tutorials for sale, that's good thing for me as I need to learn a lot ;)
Thanks ;)

Welcome to the forum! You are in the right place. We love stupid questions here, so don't be afraid to ask :)

As for the crying... we usually cover that up with gutter talk lol

Hi and thanks a lot ;)
The airbrush will come next week, I bought two paints to start with - Createx Wicked Detail black and white to let me start learning on black and white and to be able to mix them and play with shadows ... I bought reducer too , so ...
I am thinking to buy ORINO 24L compressor...
It's 65db, not quiet but quieter than some of them... The one I'm talking about will cost me ÂŁ129, still saving money, maybe next week I can buy it...
When the compressor will be delivered, then I will start some practice/exercise lol ;)
Dots and lines for totally beginner hahahaaa ;)
All the best !

Thanks a lot for warm welcome ;)

My aim is to learn airbrush techniques well enough to start painting the same way I were drawing with pencils ;)

The problem is that,I'm familiar with holding pencils but airbrush for me is like UFO to the priest ;)

Thanks ;)

I like your description of drawing with shadows, that is pretty much what the airbrush does. Blends very quickly! Having an eye for colour will do nothing but help, all you have to do is learn the particulars of the tool called the airbrush! Oh but don't be fooled... they can be stropyy at times!

Cheers ;)
You know, I always seen some barriers/disadvantages while drawing with pencils...
My wife did ask me some time ago,if I could make some art on the living room's wall...
Well..., if I was the painter then yes-I said, but with pencils...
You know I mean ;) ?
Airbrush will remove the barriers for me...
This ability to make my arts on to nearly any surface amazing me ;)
I'm only concerned whether I can learn airbrushing enough, to not to ruin the house's walls !!!
Lol ;)
