Detail Decepticon!
As mentioned in the chrome thread it looks like Simon and Craig are going about this differently. I've been playing with it some. I do remember Craig talking about the coverage over white but forgot that. I will have to try it out. I did the black base, quick silver on all pieces, and then the candies over (like Simon). Mostly because I knew I would not be using all the color paint and didn't want to keep throwing away the left over if it contained the quick silver (expensive stuff). No reduction required for the gloss black or the quick silver. Sprays great and covers well enough.

I have found the yellows a bit tough. Often look on the green side. Tequilla yellow as by far the best so far. I don't have all candies though. They do look spectacular. This is raw, no clear. I like the matte finish. I think i will clear them then cover half with some matte clear to compare. When the lights hits they are just amazing!

Look at the color in the cup, verse what it looks like over the base chrome.

It looks good. the purple is very 90's. I remember in the Coast video Craig said that he mixed the candy in with the chrome as well.

Leave them in the sun with half of it covered and see how much it fades.

Isn't that in part from the clear coat? There is some UV blocker there, no? Yeah, I know the candies are not 100% fade resistant (I don't think anyway). One of them was actually Wicked Violet over reduced, so not a true candy :). That should be pretty light fast. I did Laguna blue too, but it had too much white pigment and it killed the effect. I would think some of the transparent colors (that are lightfast?) would also work. An interesting question about the light fast aspect of it. Might be worth a post on Createx user FB page. Maybe I will email createx....

This system looks like it'll be fun to try. The chrome adds so many possibilities.
Thanks for posting.

Looks great! I have been working on some "samples" too I like the "satin" look there is so many possibilities and every combination gives it a different look!

How does the chrome looke without the candy? I have a license plate holder off a bike I am going to try it on. Would it spray through a 0.35 nozzle?

I can’t find any printed reference as to whether or but it will spray through an airbrush period. Being it’s a fine grade aluminum I would think it’s a spraygun job

There are plenty of samples and videos out already.
Most of the stuff I can find it is mixed with candy20. Just wondering if it looked like chrome. I would normally just buy it and test it myself before I did this job, but I can't afford to buy it without this job.
