Dear sirs/ladies
Does anybody know if Olympos HP-101 airbrush can be fitted with spare parts from a particular Iwata airbrush ? (needle/nozzle etc)

Hi @Papajohn I deleted the other thread you started with the same question. As a general comment, don't mix airbrush parts. Having said that, Olympos and Iwata are the same base design. Iwata and Olympos have different needle/nozzles. You possibly can but make sure you keep the needle/nozzle/air cap the same manufacturer. The real question is why...?

Dear sir thanks for your answer, i m asking because sooner or later the olympos airbrush parts will run low on stock or dissapear due to the companys closure and i want to know if i can be able to use it in the future

I was wondering if that was the case. As long as the treads are the same (Iwata and Olympos are) and you keep the needle/nozzle/aircap sets together you should be OK but in all honesty the price you pay for Iwata parts you are probably better off buying a new Iwata. Then you have a good brush - not a frankenbrush...

the short answer I will throw out here is I don't know. I have tried mixing and matching some parts between Olympos and Iwata brushes, and generally have not had good success. Iwata in recent days has started to revise some of the small details on their brushes, such as nozzle threads, and in some cases needle length, which would make them completely different than the Olympos.

That being said, it has been at least since the early 2000's that Olympos stopped any sort of production. Even then, I think it dates back much further than that -maybe as far back at the late 80's, and still there has been no sign of a parts shortage. If you know what parts you need, order them, and store them in a safe place. If you are not sure, then you are out of luck, as the current proprietor of Olympos is not much help to his customers... in which case save you money, and buy an Iwata :p.

Parts for your HP-101 are the same as parts for HP-C (not plus). I mean NOT PLUS SERIES!

BTW, 101 is very good model!

Don't worry even if you will not find original Olympos parts, you can use Iwata's instead (mentioned above).

Dear sir your answer is extremely valuable for me, are you 100% sure about the compatibility of the parts ? especially needle/nozzle

Please, don't call me "sir":)

I've just checked up:)
Fluid nozzle and air nozzle are like for HP-C (0.3mm), but the needle is like for models A, B, SB, this one has smaller diameter than C model's. Check up your brush for that, I mean the needle.

Originally, if to use 0.3mm nozzle and 0.2mm needle combination, the needle would stick out off the nozzle longer than usual. I solved the issue by sanding down the tip a bit with fine grit sandpapers on a piece of glass and polished the tip after the sanding. If you have some experience in repairing your airbrush needles tips, that not an issue for you.

Another variant is to buy needle screw with teflon packing for HP-C+ and change it instead the one installed originally. In this case you can use fluid nozzle, air nozzle and the needle all for HP-C model, without any sanding the tip. Needle packing for HP-C+ works with urethanes also. Originally, Olympos would come with rubber needle packing. I've changed all the packing in my Olympos airbrushes.
But if you'd use your 101 with urethanes, it's also better to change the side cup. It may be original from Olympos or using Grex adaptor you can use all range of Iwata cups making your 101 either gravity feed or siphon feed airbrush.
Olympos cups have bigger tube than Iwata.
I find plug in type of cups much more convenient than screwing in type side cups.

Concerning internals of 101 model - they're not like other models. You have the brush, so you know what I'm talking about.

You can see the difference between Olympos and Iwata cups.
Olympos cup I also bought separately, as airbrush comes with screw in type cup.

Here's what you could use with your Olympos.

That's why most of the forum members are here, to answer the question thus to help other people;)

Please allow me one more question, which part/company/code you used as airbrush “trigger pad” shown at the photos you sent me ?

You may ask as many questions as you like. Many of them would be answered as a lot of people are here.

Company code or smth..?:) Vladimir Airbrush Mod Co.;)
To be serious, those are my hand made trigger pads.
You could find them here http://www.airbrushforum.org/threads/diy-ab-trigger-pad.12859/#post-183248
But now I do them a bit differently, though the main idea still remains the same. What you see in this thread are my last modifications.

You are “goodsent”!!! A real Guru about Olympos airbrushes etc!!! Thank you

Vladimir Airbrush Mod Co.? Do you have a website? :)

I googled it and got this: "You are not worthy of Vladimir Airbrush Mod Products. Try your search later when you have some mad skills." :(
