Popping bye to say hello to all, I have just bought my first airbrush setup and battled with a lack of instructions to figure it all out, some people here have already helped me out getting things up and running.

I am a gaming hobbiest, and I have recently started miniature painting, after spending the last couple of years learning the traditional paintbrush, I decided to step my game with an airbrush.

I can't wait to learn the tricks of the trade, this should really help me with speed, subtle blends and highlights and Object Lught Sourcing.

I'll likely be posting my results here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/digimortal187/

I may frequent these forums for advice if there are folks working on 3D sculpts etc.

Hi Digimortal. Welcome to the forum, it's the best place for advice you can rely on for all kinds of airbrush information. It doesn't have to be just for advice either. Post up any projects you do, we'd love to see them.

Welcome home , We had people working on all kinds of 3d things from miniature to wood carvings.

Thanks all, look forward to exploring what people are up to, I decided to get stuck in after playing naughts and crosses on a piece of paper for 90 seconds... I am too impatient :)

Anyway, I picked a cheap and chearful mini from a game called Battlelore, I decided to just go crazy starting with a dark red base coat, transitioning into orange the yellow on the chest, before jazzing up the wings with some purple and pinks. It was a really exciting process, I have attached the raw result here.

It's amazing the trasitioning effects you can get, I made plent of mistakes such as too much flow improver, letting too much paint through too close and suffering from some splattering.

But with a tiny amount of traditional brushing touch ups, washes and highlights the finished product came out really well I think. I have so much to get through, can't wait :) Finished Result: https://flic.kr/p/Z2DAdz

I'm sure whatever you paint, there will be someone here who has some experience.

Nice! That's a good looking dragon and you're already fitting in with "too much flow improver, too close". Everyone here can relate to that. I'm glad you enjoyed the first outing. Next you can put something in the "Works In Progress" thread. Take some photos part way through and show what you're doing. Keep slinging that paint Digimortal.
