Derrrrrrrr and theres me thinking i'd found something new Ahhh ballhair,. (walks away with head drooped) never mind.. Yeh it does look good, I got the candy 2 O from simon murray at the KKBO last year so half way there.

I will hopefully be trying some new paint in the next few weeks so that will be a first... I'm hoping to paint my my paint pal with it if it comes early enough. I will do a write up when I get some. And its from the UK.

If you buy the chrome you'll need to to re-mortgage your house:eek: its very expensive.

Don't worry Lee, it was me who posted it and I'm new, so I probably put it in the wrong place lol. Just blame the Newb and claim it for yourself.

Haha, it's a fair excuse Mate. If it helps, I'm pretty sure someone had posted it before me, so I got the same thing lol. Just don't have a Mrs to blame it on.
[emoji3]. You're absolutely right about the product though. It looks great and there's got to be a bunch of projects that will put it to fantastic use. Particularly as it can be matt coated too.

This is interesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Craig Fraser does it different. He seems to mix all 3 components at once in a 1-1-1 ratio. So 1 part candy, 1 part silver, 1 part bleed blocker or 4030.

This guy does it in layers. Also, Craig seemed to indicate when doing a anodized look where all 3 are mixed, that it didn't need to have the gloss black. He said he tried it over white as well and in 4-5 coats it covered both black and white exactly the same.

There was also a live at 5 covering this.

Yup Craig and Simon are doing it differently. I think the outcome is the same. For me I sprayed out multiple colors so rather then waste the chrome throwing away the unused paint I based it all in chrome (like Simon did). Then I used just the color. If I were doing one color it would overall require less coats to mix it all together.

I looked for some today at the Hobby lobby down the road but they didn't have it there yet.:sour:
I so want to try some on fishing lure's:D

I've been trying to get this to work for me but I'm jacking something up. What kind of techniques are you guys finding work best? I've tried it with my lph80 like the video and also with my eclipse and it just always looks more brushed metal. Obviously it's just me

describe exactly what you are doing from start to finish.

So I been test spraying on gloss plastic spoons i test colors on. I didn't apply the gloss black but the spoons are gloss black to begin with.
No sanding or scuffing
LPH-80 .8 e2 cap set at 20-25psi
around 6-8" away from the spoon
very light mist coat Make a quick pass with it dusting and then straight air
tried going from 4-6 coats

I'm doin something wrong obviously hahah

how are you mixing it and are you adding anything like 4040? I would also consider calling Coast Airbrush and talking with those guys. They have alot of first hand use. I have the kit but haven't used it yet.

the quicksilver chrome is sprayed unreduced and without any additive as per the instructions. this stuff is thinnnnnnn
