Just saying hello! I have been a hobby airbrush artist for 20-something years, but still very much a youngling and always willing to learn.
I have typically done wildlife art with airbrush.
Recently into more of the cosplay side as I am part of the 501st (hubby convinced me to join about 8 months ago).

So I am wanting to be educated about painting and dealing with ABS etc.

Anyhow, great site! glad I found it.

Hello and welcome to the forum from Canada:)
501st...AKA "Vader's Fist" :) Nice...
Looking forward to seeing some pics of the helmets :)

Here is my latest one! I used Tamiya paints on this and it is mostly airbrushed, then hand brushed with aluminum accents so it looks beat up

That looks awesome. No wonder they have you on painting duty! Lol.

Is this one ABS?, Is it from a kit or do you mold it yourself?
Ever tried converting a 3d paper build?

I bought a fiberglass blank.. here's the photo of it after I cut out where the lenses go (forgot to take a picture prior to touching it)

Oh ,thats cool! I've never got to work from a blank or kit. Just either had to sculpt and mould and use whatever junk i could find to come up with a prop or use pepakura to do a paper build then fiberglass over it. Which is really just a pain in the butt.
From that piece under the bottom left I have a hunch the original prop designer used a carburetor and some Coax fittings to make that haha!
Possibly some parts from the old dirtbike forks for that protruding piece on the upper left.
