I'd still be tempted to try the printer stuff, probably diluted out. 8 bucks for a four color set of 30 ml each that might be diluted out to 100+ml each. As an experiment.

The other inks are a cool thing I didn't know about though

I’ve got a lot of those inks, pigment and dye based ones, I use them in my bulk type printers since 2005, and I can tell you that they are not very user friendly because it is almos imposible to clean anything that was in contact with them, you will always had some residues and will tint your color in a blink! they will never dry in another substrate than regular paper, and you can’t erase them to get white! you will be throwing your money!!

So you'll believe Marcos but you wouldn't believe me? lol
Meh, Truth is i'll probably still try it LOL
It was just an idea, but no-one liked it. No reason to talk about it anymore.
I won't be out anything, I'll use the inks for the printer anyhow.
You guys got the cons up there (and the right stuff to work with) so nobody else is gonna read it and run with it. So it all works out. :)

I actually don't have anything to work with at this time except my graphite pencils which are maybe a dollar each, from my own point of view since I struggle just to buy food, if I could afford to buy paint and indeed anything else required for airbrushing I would prefer to buy the stuff I know works and not risk losing more on top of the cost of those items by experimenting with other things.

If you can use the inks for your printer you have nothing to lose, unfortunately my printers cartridges can't be refilled, they are protected against that and I don't even dare attempt clone cartridges since I lost my last printer because of them.

Older Used Brother MFC's are great for that reason. I find it ridiculous that they all started chipping the cartridges just to sell more cartridges.
I'd rather pay them their due for the printer itself upfront and be able to fill ink for its lifetime. Not to mention the ridiculously small amount of ink they put in there now. The HP that has been relegated to scanning now, that thing you are lucky to get 20 pages out of it. It used to be a surprise when your ink ran out, now it's a surprise if you press print and the ink isn't out, or low at least.

I'm quite pleased with my Canon printer, a standard cartridge for any other printer holds around 13 to 15 ml I believe, I use xxl cartridges for my Canon which hold 24 ml, that doesn't sound a great lot but because the ink is highly concentrated as I mentioned, it seems to last forever, I've had brother, Epson and HP in the past but they didn't last long at all, I frequently find deals where I can get the inks at two thirds the price then I'll buy them if I need it or not, I generally hunt down bargains before buying anything, it's the only way to survive these days.

This was another little trick they did. Cut the amount of ink in a cartridge in half. Then a year later started selling the XL (which was just the normal cartridge with a normal amount of ink) and seems to last forever, as the old printers did.
HP is actually now trying to sell a subscription service, with a page allowance and scheduled ink delivery.
But the good thing is they've all recently started to offer printers with refillable tanks. The Canon version, $30 for a 500ml each set of refill inks. I'm definitely eyeballing one.

I just got an epson ecotank printer. (with refillable tanks)
It comes with 4 bottles of ink of 70mil.
I was sick of the empty cartridges, every time I want to print something.

Hello, If the thing is to use an ink, I have used a lot of different inks with my Evo with 0.15 setup without any issue. the best as they are dye based was the W&N inks, but all of them worked fine and are water based.

And here you have two of my printers, HP5180C and HP Officejet 7110 A3 with the bulks ink installed, dye and Pigmented respectivelly, adn the bottles of ink that I use, you can see beside the dust, the ink in the front of the 5180, it have years in it and if you touch it, you will end with a magenta finger!!

I was thinking about one of those CISS systems like you have.....how do you like it?
do your print heads last with it or do you still end up buying a cartridge sometimes to replace the print head?

Never had to change a print head, except when my wife filled the pigmented one with dye based ink!! Clogged everything!! But it cost me only 40u$s! And that was 3 years ago!! You have to choose printers with printhead in it and not in the cartridge, it works better with them, but it works fine with the ones with cartridge too, you will have to change the cartridge at least every two year depending the use you gave it. The only drawback is that you have to dismantle the printhead every two years depending the amount of use and the quality of the ink to give it a good cleaning( nothing complex, a couple a screws and nothing more)!!

Cool, might have to go that route instead of one of the new tank ones for 200-300.

To go back to the original subject here....man those fischers are rare! I started looking around bit

Im not a big fan of dye based inks, i feel the blacks are never truly black, tint of purple or green with some, not unless theres a brand of ink out there that doesnt do that

Maybe have a look at fountain pen inks. Lots of brands, lots of colors, primarily dye-based. Kind of expensive by volume, but a little goes a long way.

I've bought from these guys before and can vouch for them:

They do sample vials for around 2 bucks a pop, so you can load up with an armload of stuff to test for not much layout.

I have 3 super 63's, one with a cup (E model) setup with the high flow .66 nozzle and cap I think,, the other two are A models with the fine .12 setup. They spray super fine with most paints. etac seems very good through them although they were originally designed for use in photo retouching I believe, and I presume would have sprayed some type of ink. I've kept an eye peeled for a super 93 for several years as they are supposed to have the .1 setup which i would love to try just to see how it sprays then keep it safe. I've bid on a couple on ebay in the past but never managed to get one as yet.

Sorry i havent really responded, i been playing around with the fischer, it came with 5 bottles, and a .2, .3,.4mm nozzle and needle sets, and .1, and .6 are options, the way they made the nozzle is just outstanding, they are high flow nozzles like you see on the devilbiss sprite, so at .2mm you can shoot alittlw thicker paint then .2mm nozzles now a days, i can get fine lines with all setups, im blown away, i have alot of airbrushes and this is at the top of the list for me, on the nozzles and nozzles caps, the sizes are stamped by hand because of how the 2, 3, 4 are on it, brilliant minds behind this airbrush, i have much respect for fischer, and the older devilbiss airbrushes, will be hunting down more fischers, and super 63, 93, and sprite airbrushes as well
