I'm pretty new in the airbrush world, due to two little kids, I cannot control my time as I would like to. How harmful to my Airbrush is it if I leave it mid spraying for 15-20mins, is it enough to just blow out the color, or put the tip into water?

That would depend on the paint you're using, but you would probably have paint drying in the and/Or nozzle, if you have leave it for short periods with paint still in it, try covering it up with a damp cloth/rag, just make sure you're needle projector cap is on if you do this.

It onky takes seconds to empty the paint out and flush it a couple of times with water, that's all I do, I'll only do a full clean at the end of the day.

I have no doubt you'll be asked for an introduction soon due to this being your first post:)

Done it plenty of times with wicked, CI and thinned out artist acrylic without doing anything. Just end up having to clean the paint off the needle especially at the needle nozzle interface and it leaves a ring in your cup to wipe out with a rag on your next color change.
Id imagine leaving it with the tip submerged would probably ward off having to clean the tip on returning IDK.
Just dont try it with 2k :)

it all depends on the paint you use and the temp in your work space if it is real hot the paint will dry faster but in general it should be fine if you leave some paint in your brush for 15 or 20 min.

Thanks for the quick replies :) Using Vallejo paints for the moment.

I would take the few seconds needed to clean those out rather than leave it in the brush, it doesnt clean up as easy as most airbrush paints, I've used Vallejo paints in the past and had to use solvent thinners to clean it if it dried on the cup, being designed for models and hard surfaces it dries real hard.

I agree with Malky on the vallejo paints , you cant leave those paints in your brush for a longer period best clean your brush before any break

What brand of paint would you recommend which can handle short breaks better? It should be available in Europe.

it all depends on what you plan to paint , for portrait art I would recommend Etac efx or golden but if you paint models or hard surface there is not much choice as paints for those substrates need to dry fast

Questions like this get better answers if you make a nice introduction telling us things like where on this planet you live I gather in Europe but that is a pretty big area . Which airbrush are you using ? What compressor ? where are you painting at ? ie a spare room in you house, an attached garage, a detached garage a storage shed out in the back yard. Climate affects how paint being sprayed reacts, or how long it can stay in the paint cup.
What are you painting and what is your goal ? You only paint models.or you are looking to paint anything that will hold still long enough to be painted LOL
Having raised 3 kids I know what we might think will be a quick break could turn into hours vs minutes.
Anyway you will find the introduction section here

Oh Createx Wicked line will pretty much paint on anything and I have left it in the cup for over an hour a few time with no issues on cleaning out the brush when I was finished.
