Hi Everyone,
I have been lurking for a while, and thought it only polite to introduce myself.
I live in Melbourne and have been airbrushing for a few months. I have always liked custom painted cars, but the inspiration actually came from seeing a photo of the ceiling in someones bathroom. They had painted it sky blue and airbrushed clouds across it. I guess they liked the feeling of answering natures call, surrounded by nature but with a bit more privacy.
A (very) cheap airbrush and compressor later, and I was pinching the kids colouring in books for practice! I have been slowly replacing my supplies with better equipment as I become more proficient, and currently use a Neo airbrush and a decent compressor with tank and proper moisture traps. I am using Wicked colours and mainly painting on canvas.
My paintings are usually quick projects that make the kids smile (at least by volume), but I am starting to paint more detailed things as I get more control of the airbrush. So far my biggest problems encountered have been consistency. Some days I can spray a nice tight line and other days are a disaster.
I have already gotten so much out of this forum as a 'silent partner', so my introduction is also a thank you. The advice I have read here has fixed so many of my frustrations in getting started.
Thanks and hello,
