    I do not think using 4020 to clean it would be a good idea. It is an Automotive reducer, not a cleaner. I think it would leave a film. Use a wax and grease remover. I have never heard of this before, so I might be wrong...

    I agree with @twood, wax and grease remover will be enough and MUCH cheaper than 4020.
    4020 has acetone in it and it's possible that it dissolves the primer so the black wont stick.

    No i have cleard the helmen all did go well.
    I did juse first time wax and greaser remover.
    And the last time juse wax and greaser remover.

    i saded the helmet dry 600 grid.
    nothing else.
