We know all about "life happens" events. Sorry to hear about your website. I'd set one up for my wife's business years ago. Was expensive and there just wasn't the activity she'd hoped for. Shut ours down when she realized she'd rather deal with people directly at craft shows than online. Made money and didn't have the monthly cash bleed from the website.
Glad to see you're back working on this again. :)

    Cheers for sharing HellBird.
Actually you’ve lifted me up ;)
It’s good to know I’m not the only one, for whom running his website it’s not paying off...
The purpose was clear - start earning money on prints or such.
Unfortunately my portfolio is very short, my name unknown - this or the other things caused not having profits at all for nearly two years.
I’ve been waiting and encouraging myself, that the day of sellings will come.
If two years of waiting isn’t enough, then I’m simply not willing to pay money anymore, just to keep the website running?

I’m sorry to hear you had give it up too, but happy that your wife did find better way to hit her target ;)

I’ve stopped on this painting when we went for one week holiday to visit my mum in Poland...
That break time, and then got busy with working hours, has made me very unmotivated.
I did a bit, I thought I’ll carry on painting, but then have give it up again for another week...

I’m back on it for good.
All the bothering things are sorted out.
This month is the last, that I’ll work for 6 days p/w.
From next month July, I’m back on 5 days p/w.
This change has to be done!

I know I’ll earn less money, but this compromise is must in my case - the different working hours just killing my time, that I’d like to use for painting...

To be honest, if somebody would have ask me for commission painting, I’d be struggling to get it done, cause of unsuitable working hours...
This is why I’m struggling to get motivated, and to finish this portrait...

If I’m working 6 days - every month I’ve got two weeks connected of working day by day, to get two days off then, then again 6 days to work to get one day off...
I’m not trying to complain, but I’m the person who needs to be rested to go painting...
    If I’m tired, I simply can’t make it ;(

So sorry for way too long reply, but at least I can share what’s bothering me for long time ;)
Cheers for reading HellBird, and maybe the others won’t mind to get involved , lol ;)

Artur don’t be down. It is the same for all. In the world of airbrushing it is very hard to earn a living. Many will disagree, but I have learned from experience over 39 years of airbrush art that unless you are will to take pennies for in comparison it normally won’t sell. I have airbrushed for friends, family, in a tourist town and from the web and have nothing really to speak of. Months would go buy with no one even asking. You joy is not in the cash it is the eyes of those who receive. It is better to give than receive. Your reward is far greater and heart become lighter. We paint because to creat with this talent bring excitement and joy. Money is hear and gone. It is fleeting. The painting is beautiful and this is where you find that joy. God has gifted you with a special talent like all here and we use it to bring joy to others. I had three people ask for Hand Of God and you know how many bought it, NO ONE! I was saddened, but when I realized my first I tent was to bless my son in law’s brother with this my joy returned. He is struggling with Cancer and this will help to keep his eyes on the Lord and remember the joy of his salvation. That is the highest payment I could ever receive. To lift a spirit with my art. Life has enough worries for itself. Be of good Cheer my friend. God knows!

Thanks Fred for your keen comment...
I know what you mean, and I knew your point of view a long ago ;)
My concerns are based on what I’d wish for - stop driving buses and start living for paintings.
Unfortunately after couple of years passed away, I know it won’t happen, not for me, though.

I think the most of the commissions goes on automotive arts, especially bikers stuff - the area I’m not really interested in?
    Painting on helmets, tanks ...
    I just wouldn’t enjoy it/or I don’t like to try it.
Maybe something will change my mind, but I’m not ready for it,just yet.
All I fully enjoy is fine arts on flat surface, portraits,animals...
But there’s no commission requests so far.
The ones I’ve had, wouldn’t pay more than £25 - so I refused it.

I think I need to change my attitude,as you advice ;)
Just enjoy whatever I painting ;), and treat it as an awesome hobby rather, than target for living ;)
To be honest - because of my working hours, I wouldn’t manage to paint more than one painting per month?
With frequency as such - there’s no way to earn enough to live for ;)
To quit buses, I’d have to be VERY VERY SURE that my painting sellings are stable still, and the income is continuously.
Without such strong points - I cannot quit buses.

Working for 6 days p/w isn’t helping to move on.
So my first step is to get back on 5 days at next month ;)
Time will show, whether I succeed at any point or not at all ;)

The gift you’ve mention, to your brother in law’s son..? is amazing, and worth much much more than earning any money - his happiness on his harsh days is priceless, and will easy his pain for sure !!!
    Thank you dear Fred ;)

Yes you are right that the higher money in airbrushing is most certainly in automotive. T-shirt painting can be very lucrative if you are in a tourist area. Mall work around here never generated much business. I have know a lot of artists try in my area doing t-shirts and wall art and every single one folded because cost for renting a kiosk area was too high and income was too low. I would so you well though and hope that your dream comes true. For me the dream was refreshed into its true form that I was meant to use it for. I know I am in God’s perfect will for my life. Don’t forget I was a truck driver for a very long time. Follow what you know in your heart and God is just a prayer away. He cares and is always listening for us to call upon Him. I am always an that will listen. Keep up the wonderful work.

    Thank you again Fred...
It’s always nice to talk to you ;)

I’ve had a day off today, well , I’ve finished my latest shift just past 1am tonight, so actually I’ve finished today the yesterday’s shift ;)
I told you guys - bus driving isn’t helping to be fresh and ready for paintings, lol ;)

Anyway , I had good time to get rest, so I moved forward the hood’s texture around the face ;)
Slowly getting the look of the fur ;)

I think, when I’ll be happy with the hood, I will move to get the face’s details done to finish this portrait ;)

Thank you for letting me express myself, with the things, thats bothering me ;) EFD705A6-E31E-4D2C-BAA3-9C7F4DE9D7DE.jpeg

    Another update...
    Just tweaking shadows and details.
I’m not going to put extra efforts on to the surrounding face hood’s texture,as I like to keep the focus on to the face rather.
The next step - the final touch to the eyes, eyelashes/eyebrows.
Thank you for watching ;) B0C5CC4D-E38C-4513-AEA6-44D19B1D95C3.jpeg

    Not much to say.
I spent a good time on the eyelashes and the eyebrows.
Not sure,if this is what I were expecting.
I will try to think about this outcome yet.
    - I’m preparing to make the final touch, to the whole eyes, make them as good as I can ;)
    Lots to learn. 8CF35BC8-E140-4973-904C-A6337833EAFF.jpeg 7BE5258B-42D9-419F-A62B-49B1091194B1.jpeg

    Thanks , lol ...
    She’s got the eyes , lol ;)
At last nearly done for you to appreciate it a bit ;)
Unfortunately I’ve lost focus while working on the eyelashes JackEb, and accidentally I made them a way too thick, matching the youth look rather than 18mths baby girl, lol ;)
I can’t take it back, it must stay like this...
Therefore I’m about to change the title ;)
    - Get The London Look !!!
    Hahahaaaa ;) ;) ;)

I see what you’re saying Pog, but it doesn’t spoil the piece for me. I think there’s an awful lot to be proud of in this work.

    Thanks Simon ;)
The eyelashes must stay as they are, now I’m trying to focus on the whole area surrounding the eyes, to blend the eyebrows to the flesh texture, to make them look realistic and to compliment the eyes (support the look) ;)
If I’m lucky - it’s going to be nice portrait.
If I’m unlucky - it’s only the learning curve ;)
Thanks Simon very much for your keen comment...
