Hey guys so im new and such and looking at working with t-shirts and also metal parts for spraying but im along way off any of that haha, i was looking at the air brush kits on ebay for around £70 im in the UK so was wondering is it worth getting i wanna get one with a moister bottle as i don't wanna buy cheap buy twice as they say

The brushes with most of those kits are just toys. Some of those compressors are OK to get by on.
Post a link to what you're looking at, you'll get better advice.

A compressor with an air tank would be a good starting point. A lot of the starter kits have reasonable compressors for decent prices. The brushes would probably want an upgrade, but they may be enough to get you kicked off.

I still get by without a tank at home, but I have to drain the trap a lot and sometimes take a break on larger pieces. I don't paint fast with a lot of freehand though either.

thanks for the help guys :D i don't mind upgrading the brush as long as i can get a airbrush compressor from the start. i want to do t-shirts and metal work spraying

If I were starting as cheap as possible without a lot of frustration and without having to totally rebuy stuff in the future. I would get basically any tanked compressor. And probably this brush.... If you're handy enough with tools to check it out by following some members intructions with it. Though some would say don't bother with the cheapies at all. I think there are some diamonds in the rough.

If not I'd just go ahead and either get an eclipse hp-cs

Or my personal favorite, Mr hobby procon boy.
PS 289 for your purposes.

Second all of that.
This place has great prices, great reviews and stocks both the Eclipse CS and the Mr Hobby Procon Boy PS289. Other brushes of course are available lol.

Don’t wast money and time. T shirt work demands a fair amount of air pressure and a good size tank. My suggestion is a compressor similar to a California Airtool compressor. Look for one that is rated quiet, has at least a 4 gallon reserve air tank and a 1 to 2 horse motor. For an airbrush to start with go with an Iwata HP-BCS Eclipse and buy a bunch of bottles with fast blast tops. Keep one bottle with water to rinse between colors and the rest for colors. If you don’t want a bottom feed the go for a HP-CS Eclipse. Run air pressure of around 45 to 60 psi. and use 100% Cotton or 50/50 Colton Polyester. For paint go with E’tac PS or Createx Wicked Color.

Timbertech Airbrush Compressor Piston Kit with Tank Sprayers Painting Tool Set https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00LM9ROGG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_NWWkAbQRM5XJT
I’m pretty sure this is the same pack that I got. But it’s hard to tell as the cheap stuff has different stickers put on it and is sold all over the place.

Yes that is pretty much the same compressor. I own an Iwata Great White and from the demo I watched they are about the same for decibels. The only units I found that are quieter at the Terry Hill Sil-Air. If I were buying again I would definitely go with one of the California Air Tool Ultra Quit. Even if they only last 5 to ten years they are way cheaper than $1,795.

Absolutely agree. I’m sure someone can correct me, but from the looking I’ve done, we struggle to get California Air Tool compressors in the UK. I’m sure there are version branded differently, but I haven’t been able to find them so far.

The one you posted looks like the exact same motor. The ultra quiets are rated at 70db and the quiet are 60db. Compared to my old pancake Sears Craftsman the noise is night and day. The thing I love the most about the Craftsman is the 2 horse motor filled the tank quick but still can’t keep up with my HVLP gun.

We struggle to get California air compressors in the UK but since they are renamed imports sold by California air they do exist here but with a different name, look here at the Orazio ones.

That’s the brand that I had tracked down and Robby posted a link too. I didn’t know there were the same, but suspected. Thanks for the confirmation Malky.

I had one in Holland, I found exactly the same model on Amazon but with Orazio name, they do and sound the same as the California air ones, I would almost have had the small Orazio at the top of the page had it not been for effing divorce bill, the bastards.

Sure, there’s always something to take fun money away. I’m glad these have turned out to be decent. The price is great for untie with a sensible DB output.
