Foxy Soft Springs

Greg Geilman

Detail Decepticon!
So I just received my springs from Foxy for my Eclipse CS but cannot seem to get the part out to change the springs. Seems to be in extremely tight. Any ideas?

I use toothpicks to get that darn thing unscrewed good luck.

Needle point tweezers work better, just dont push in deep. The toothpicks were to weak if they were too tight.
I've just done 3. One with tooth picks before I raided the bathroom 'toolbox'
Just don't over tighten them when you put them back in. The screw is brass and easily distorted/stripped if too much pressure applied.

Yeah, tried the tooth pics, no go. Also, is the Mac Valve supposed to be a bleed valve or is this one defective? I can't hold any consistent pressure with it. I tried my needle point tweezers first. It won't budge. Don't want to break it.

Not trying to infer anything but this is the part in the air stem that you're trying to remove? Don't push the tips of the tweezers / toothpicks in too far, they seem to get caught on the internals. The tweezers only just need to be in there. Firm but gentle anti clockwise turn is all the force that should be required.

Any chance it's been out before and it's cross threaded ?
I've had my HPB+ one out numerous times in the last week and they're fiddly little suckers. Lay something soft under it so it won't bounce and roll when it does come out (don't ask)

Oh no ! Are you close to someone else who can have a go . Or a specialist retailer who might have some more suggestions ?
Maybe a quick squirt wit WD-40?
Hold the brush as you would normally if you can't remove that piece, and squirt up into the thread without getting it into the rest of the airbrush.
If you can remove the air valve body the it won't matter, it will be easier to clean out

Will see if we still have any WD40. Quit using it years ago. Called Iwata and he said send it in, but then I am w/o my brush for two weeks. I may have to. Will check my gun cleaning kit. Think I have some Break Free.

Just try and avoid getting too much liquid into the unit itself.. It will be a pain to get clean. I used the term WD40 because most people globally know what is is. If you've got something else (and the term 'break free' sounds like it is ) then go ahead and use that [emoji3]I'm glad Iwata are happy to look at it for you. It's a good excuse to buy a 2nd brush so you always have a standby if needed.
