That would make sense. The Tamiya Spray Work airbrush holder looks just like Iwata’s new one. All the same stuff.

Yeah I think any theories about imitation are no longer valid. Iwata just likes to charge a lot.....people think that means they must be better. That simple.

Maybe with the new popularity of GSI Creos will will see Iwata’s prices get more competitive.

Possibly, but there is an advantage to the availability ,popularity, and options in iwatas lineup as well as being pretty secure you'll always be able to get a part without having to figure out the cross reference. Personally i probably will never buy a new iwata, since you can pretty much cover any configuration you want with the other brands but i'm glad they are there.
b cups and mac free microns would be a good addition to GSI though. Neither of those I care about but many people do.

I dont think GSI cares too much about the whole mr hobby line either, the company is mainly textiles ,industrial chemicals and nano carbon products.
The hobby division barely gets a mention on their web page. Somewhat akin to if Dow bought badger or testors (owned by rust-oleum btw)

Parts availability, customer service, and warranty. I get it. I don’t have anything against Iwata.

I think I’m going to try one of those creos pc 770. I want a micron but at my stage don’t want to spend that much. After reading and watching a few videos on it as well as suggestions from others here..seems like a no brainer. We will see

Im pretty confident it IS a micron. Obviously I can't say as I don't have either, let alone both, but I trust it from those who do.
Downside...for some... is the C cup with b nozzle is your only choice.

The way I’ve been spraying the cup is not an issue. Not sure what the b nozzle is??

Oh, I did find Mr.procons all the way back to 1987 from gunze, just a side note. Will probably always be speculation but seems fairly likely rich was manufacturing for Olympos as well. They both go back to 1956 or so.
