I understand a little bit about how the gallery works, but what is the etiquette regarding its use?

Are member encouraged to put finished works in their personal galleries even if they also post in the sub forum for finished art?
Are the galleries a repository for "work in progress" photos for projects?
Are there advantages to using the gallery as opposed to a thread/post?

It give me a spot to put My art so other can see how I progressed in the last few years You can put any art you have in it and let people see your work and comment on it also lets the newbies that just started airbrushing a place to see just what you can do if you practice with your airbrush.

Generally most people just put finished work in their gallery. It's your "portfolio" Its just saved away as just a picture.
A WIP thread is just that, you put up progression pictures and can have a whole discussion along the way.
Or a finished piece thread... your expecting to discuss it.. or explain how you've done it.

Absolutely you can put it in both.

When you set up an album you can also change settings to restrict who can see it. If it’s left at the default setting then anyone looking at the forum but not a member can also see it- it’s totally public.
If you change the settings to ‘registered members’ then only we get to see them.
There are also other options you can change :)

Best thing about the gallery is watching your development throughout the journey?!
