Been trying to get back to some painting so i took the day off to do it! Also ive been wanting to try the synthetic paper Matty sent me last paint pal. So heres what i did with it! Still gonna tighten up some details and some tonal values. Im liking the synthetic paper! Just might get some more to play with. Its 5"x7" with Etac Efx carbon black and my HP-C+ Hope you like!

That looks really quite good for being just 5"X7"! When you say synthetic paper, is that Blair, or Yupo?

Its called Lara Vanguard synthetic paper. Right @matty171 ? I really like it, It erases well along with scratching. It might be a little harsh for how i paint with the erasing cause i like to gradually build my texture by softly erasing. This paper goes right to hard white pretty easily. The posterboard i use allows me to softly erase in my texture but im really used to that and have learned tricks with it. Just gotta learn how it reacts with my style with the synthetic!

Did a bit more detailing and probably will go through it one last time to soften a few things. The highlights really stand out in the pic. Wish i could take an accurate pic of what it looks like in person, but dont we all!! lol

I thought the Sukka was done!!! Your extreme detail is lost in photos, when I show people your koala they look dumbfounded
    :)

All this synthetic paper talk - I've tried 4 different types and they all were very different from each other, i love it!!!

yes @Visual Realm mate lana vanguard paper, seems reasonable on price, i got 10 sheets 22x32cm for £10. its great for scratching but erasing is a bit harder as im sure youve found out if you go to hard with the eraser it will go all the way back to white.

I see that the Vanguard is listed as 100% polypropylene, which is the same as Yupo - of course the actual surface could be different. When I first started trying to figure Yupo out (using Createx Illustration colors) I did some tests where I sprayed varying patches of coverage, and then would "test" both erasing, and scratching (both blade and stick) something like every 3 minutes for the first 15 minutes, then every 5 minutes after that till 30, and then every 15 minutes, etc... With the Createx the results change as time goes on, and I had to adjust my working method(s) to accommodate. Initially trying to erase would just wipe clean to white again, but as the paint had time to cure, I could get a softer effect. At the time I also felt that the surface remained quite delicate, and was afraid of scratching, or lifting paint by accident. Some weeks after I completed a project, I found a scrap piece of the Yupo that I had been test spraying on, and tried scratching it and found that much to my surprise, the surface had toughed up significantly. Now, I am not sure any of this would apply to E'tac, but may be worth checking...
