Oh yeah. This is gonna be cool. Did you keep the texture of the gesso rough to help with the look of the snake?

The viper above could be a Brazilian one, I cant see any hair or bush...... just a bit of rock.

I don't know about a Brazilian Viper but there is such a thing as a Brazilian rainbow boa........... its a beautiful thing to behold.

    Cue @Squishy . . .

This is proceeding nicely GH.... you have some serious detail work ahead of you.

This viper's official name is Atheris Hispida, and it is known as hairy bush viper because of its pointy dorsal scales... why bush? I don't know... maybe it hides in bushes or something. As far as I know, it can only be found in Africa.

And yes, I'll have to paint scale by scale with all their tiny details, but hey, that's where the fun is... I guess :D

you have a strange style of 'fun'.

tedious ? yes. Satisfying when completed? very likely. Fun ? Probably not lol

So is that a viper that has what looks like a mohawk...? Maybe a goatee...?

With the background in place, I started working on the eye today. Just laying down the dark lines so I can glaze color on top later :)

I continued working the eye. Glazed several mixes of green and went over the black parts a couple of times. I wish I had a Micron for this detail work, but I gotta say my Eclipse delivered better results than I expected :) Gotta work on the reflection portion now.
