    So, today I had the projector out for a spin, since I profect the image from my phon to the projector I could not take any pictures when I used it.
    I will get pictures later on if requested.
    Flouresent light 2X38W and two desk lamps with 1000 lumen in each I could still se the picture on the foam core bord without any problems.
    So even if it is a bit more trouble since there not is any USB in the projector I'm very pleased with it adn would recomend it with out a doubt.

    I also bought a tripod for a camera to put it on that can rotate in any direction and that is a good investment.

    According to the spec sheet I just checked there should be and adapter in the package that converts the HDMI socket to micro USB;

    This is from the sheet;

    K132 DLP Projector
    AC to DC Power Adapter
    HDMI Cable
    MHL Cable (HDMI to Micro-USB)
    Remote Control
    Battery for Remote Control
    Protection Case
    User's Guide (CD-ROM)
    Network/Multimedia Guide (CD-ROM)
    Quick Start Guide

    So the fourth item in bold should allow you to connect any micro USB cable such as those that now come with smart phones.

    On this link you can see all the specs which state that it does have USB http://www.acer.com/ac/en/GB/content/model/MR.JGN11.001

    I get it, I keep all my photos and documents in cloud storage so all I would need to do connect my phone or tablet and project directly from my cloud, I got rid of all my memory sticks when all this became possible since I always have my phone with me wherever I go but I never carried memory sticks around.

    I think you could also use a stand alone powered USB/card reader hub:)

    I have the artograph with the flip up lid and lay your image on top the glass and close the lid. I even bought the better lens in hopes it would crisp up the image. But alas I still truffle from time to time with ambient light and soft edges from crappy prints. One of these kinds could be useful so I wouldn't need to print anything any more.

    he does have it Base, but anything connected to it needs it's own power source such as a tablet or smart phone or computer/laptop, he wanted to use a USB memory stick which unfortunately doesn't have it's own power source.

    Well it's time for som pictures, the first ones are just for you to see what lights I use if that is of any help and the picture from where the projector is standing. The last three is with all light, no table lights and the last no lights at all. Enjoy.

    I would assume that you can actually see a lot more detail live than we can see in the photos?, I wish you many many hours of fun with it, and your painting too:)

    Yes, the photos don't do the projector justified, the picture it selfe is also a drawn one and not a "live" picture.

    How small can it go. I was noticing a lot of these style projectors are rated at 20 or 30 inches up to 100 inches to be able to focus.

    If you ever intend to paint or draw something, I wouldn't recommend using a reference of another painting or drawing, not because you might be creating a fake, but because there may be mistakes in them that you would be copying so yours would have mtstakes too, so always choose a reference of the real thing unless what you want to paint wasn't real to start with like cartoons, if you aim for realism you can't get it from anything but the real thing.

    Well I went out and tested it, it's not easy to take a picture on a LED screenthats why there are colur "streaks" in the pictures, I shoot the picture on a A4 paper in laying down or landscape if you like :) and the first picture is with the projector 1 foot away, the others the projector is about 3 feet away from the paper. So I would say that it can do smaller pictures than I can detail with my AB.:laugh:;):thumbsup:

    If you can display on your phone or their computer you take a screen shot which will save as jpeg;)
