Help with painting stainless

I am going to paint a few yeti cups, and am wondering the best way to do it. Can I sand them, apply etch primer, wetsand it, then use auto air? And then 2 part clear?

Sounds like a plan. I myself would wet sand with 1,000 possibly 1,200 grit wet/dry sandpaper.
Best of luck to ya!

From my understanding and I could be wrong but primers for metal are to help prevent rust and such. Stainless true non ferrous cannot rust. But on the other hand it helps the paint adhere. If it's not a huge project i'd probally get a can or two of krypton primer. You might want to research a little first tho or maybe ask some of the pros here.
Hope this helps.

Ask the paint manufacturers for a good product under your topcoat.

I going to be using auto air paints, and i saw on another website that createx recommends a self etch primer under them. I think i am going to go with a can of SEM self etch, on the can it says it is to be used on stainless.

Good luck, I'd like to see the finished project if you don't mind.

As long as it's compatible with your top coat it should work well!

thanks for the help, will post a pic when finished! Should be within the next week or so!
