Hey Simbad from the UK. Are you an ex pat?

So you've done the best thing, joined here before buying anything. Now we can advise you and make sure you get something suitable.

To work out what that is, what kind of airbrushing do you want to do? Art, auto, t-shirts, models etc. And if you don't mind sharing what is your budget?

Avoid anything with the word 'kit', it seems like a good deal, but is usually a waste of money, the brushes generally aren't good or reliable, if they work at all, and the tiny tankless compressors are not fit for purpose. You need a compressor with a tank, and a good brush as trying to make a poor one work, will not only be frustrating, but stop you learning. You should also think about paint. Airbrush specific paint is a must - the type of painting you do will help the choice. :)

Thanks for the big welcome guys, I'm very new to all the airbrushing and looking at various bits of equipment. Iwata neo airbrush are they okay for a newbie ?

Trying to find auto air trans paint in Spain, but no success yet. Maybe somebody could point me in the right direction for paint ??

    Hola Tanuki,

    Tal vez nos podamos ayudar,
    Perdona mi mal español

    Hi Squishy,

Yep I'm an expat, we have been in Spain a few years and love the culture, climate and obviously the people. Spain is Home for us.
No idea on budget, I have a compressor already, just need some equipment and lots of practise...lol

I have a 1995 Westfield Sports Car I would like to airbrush, so automotive spraying for me.

Just looked on your FB page Squishy...omg fantastic work.
Think I should go back to Matchstick men again..lol

    Cheers.

Thanks for checking out my page :)

I haven't used the neo, but some folk seem to like it. Its made for Iwata not by Iwata, so not the same quality etc. But should get you started. My personal recommendation is the Iwata eclipse hp-cs, a great all round brush. Good to learn on, but you wont outgrow it. Its a lot of brush for the money, but I know it can be a bit rich if you're just starting out and don't want to invest too much.

Are you hoping to do auto work? If so try looking for Wicked paint. Its also by createx but is a multi surface paint, you can use it on pretty much any thing including auto. If you do get this get the high performance reducer, it needs a good amount of reduction, and it doesn't like water, you wont get the best out of I with a home brew reducer either :)
