With me the magnets would not come in to contact with anything. Should be tough no nuts.
Welcome to being an artist, work takes you away from the art!
This is why I want to become a tattooist.
All day in a creative environment rather than the brain sapping normal job
Quick update, work have left me alone
Coming along nicely Sir, I couldn't do what your doing by just getting time in while you can, I generally don't start a project unless I know I can continue through to the finish, leaving it overnight to carry on next day is fine but if I left a few days I usually struggle to know what I'm doing, I have binned a few pieces because of this, so all credit to you and anyone else who can actually pick up where they left off even after a week or two
Loving the blood effect
Work has killed me last few weeks so was just working on a few pencil and digital projects I was working on so in a way i’m always doing something art related.
I just don’t want to be too tired trying to colour match because of wasting paint, not so much of a worry with graphite or digital.
Going to blast rest of the blood in once the wifes home tonight and then just the skin tone and shadows to work on.
yep! that blood looks quite edible.
Everyone needs iron in their diet
That reminds me to get some strawberry cheesecakes!
She's a messy eater.
Nailed the red! A very hard colour to get right!
I googled it and it worked a treat.
Tiny bit of orange, no idea of the mechanics of paint but it brought the red right round to a blood colour.
Then cobalt blue to darken.
I don’t thnik this will be the last painting with a blood effect i’ll do.
Really enjoy the process although i have spent hours on it.
Remember Dru’s “take your time” mantra
15/25 hrs is average for me I would say. The more you practice colour theory the more you begin to see! You do really good work and I’m excited to see what you do over the year!
Cheers Mac, it’s really appreciated.
Yeah I think I just had a bad day in the office yesterday.
I choose a pretty hard one to do this time wound thinking it would be easy to get.
The skin tone is so light and greyish it was fairly hard to get really.
I have laid the first bit down, it isn’t exact but it isn’t too far off so i’m happy.
All good Bruv! Settle your mind I’ve been there so many times you wouldn’t believe! I still have those days! I found that for some tones Payne’s grey and white is near perfect I found this by accident when I spent 2hrs using my usual method of sepia umber red violet and got nothing close! I said to myself - what do I see - greyish colour - right well add grey! I think it was a tiny tooth pick of sienna to give it saturation
I did use the tooth pick method yesterday which you told me before, it definitey works
I will get there bud, the practice is on now.
I’ve got the right bug for it now and have always wanted to work with colour so i’m enjoying it.
Nothing is meant to be easy to begin with i suppose
I think “easy”’never comes into it! Dedication to work through frustration and to push your boundaries when appropriate
Coming coming from a past hobby of production you know how head banging and frustrating that could be
My next one i will incorporate masks though definitely to protect from overspray.
That is 100% something i think i need to practice doing until i get my control down better.
