Umm, is it just me that thinks of these tools as overkill?
I could see needing the kid gloves way to grip the serrations on an Iwata the first time..... but the GSI's have a nut around the base.
I used a regular old 11mm wrench to take the 270 head off the first time, its not on there at 100ft-lbs or anything.
If you wrench is rough garbage and your worried about putting unnoticeable scratches on it just put a strip of paper between them. After the first time you'll only need your fingers.

it's just you - I love the pliers ;):). If I had a nickel for every time I used them... Not JUST on the Creos, but all of my airbrushes, as well as countless other things around the house and shop.

When i've needed them in the past on other things and didnt have them around I just slip heater hose over the object.
but home depot has soft jaw channel locks in their hdx store brand...which i have....just thought it was totally unnecessary for the GSI head i mean its on there at what, something in the inch-pound range

I thought I had stumbled across the inserts before and I have!
They’re out of stock at the moment but the guy is usually pretty good at restocking.

Thanks, I saved this - but will say that with shipping, it is less expensive for me to purchase a whole new pair of the ones I have vs. replacing the jaws on the Iwata pair...

Sure, I forgot about shipping. The guy who runs the site is pretty reasonable and might be worth an email to see if he can do any better on international shipping. But if you can buy others that cheap, probably not worth it.

Hey, there are dealers here that charge a minimum shipping that would have me sticking with ordering a whole new pair of pliers too... ;). Next time I think it is time fr a replacement, I will check into it. I appreciate the link, as I have not found them even being listed anywhere else.

Why hasn't anyone copied the micron b,c,or sb? They are all cm-c+ variations.

I’m hoping to get my hands on one of these next month! I had already wondered if the Iwata Handle would fit.

Cool, I think I’ll go the easy route and get the TH one.

Neither, the Iwata pliers are a bit smaller than either that you linked to, and the jaw inserts are also a little different. It is a pair of the 165's that I purchased to replace the Iwata pair in my tool kit.

Yeah, I could not find an original Iwata part number for the piece you need to mount the handle to the TH, so I just made my own. There has to be a piece that screws onto the air hose connection at the base of the brush to extend the connection to the base of the grip, and a bolt that threads onto that, to hold the handle onto the brush. I also preferred the shape of the Neo handle. Either, the TH or Neo handles are actually on the small side (quite small!). So, I just felt to shape of the Neo handle offered more of a grip

So they only sell the handle and adapter as a pair?

Thank you, I've never seen that setup before. I may buy it and a creos 770 front end and see how they play together.

I think that would be a cool setup on the cheap, other than some annoyingly loose threads here and there I haven't had any any body/trigger/seal issues with my china cheapy, in fact the body has long outlasted my badger krome and the threads arent as bad as some of the ones on my krome either.
Again my krome was probably the exception but it's quality was pretty lacking

I'm sure you can look at them and identify them but just for onlookers sake, careful of which one since one of the kkmoon side feeds is made like an eclipse copy and one is made like a micron copy
