Hello philberj, and everyone else. First post here.
I was going to register and introduce myself when work slowed down a bit.
But the California Air links prompted some expediting on that plan due to recent hands on experience.
I bought that steel tank wheeled CA compressor about 1 1/2 months ago. Its all it is said to be except for a couple serious irritations. The base engineering is a work of art but thats where it stops. It was like it was drawn up on paper at Mercedes, but the parts used to implement the build come from Northern China.
The wheels are useless as they rattle so bad that the whole idea of a 'quiet compressor' becomes a mute point. Same goes with the head covers and the air intake.
You can make it quiet but it takes some work. Duct tape works wonders.
I dont regret buying it for the price, since it does make a very good AB compressor with the larger tank. But you certainly get what you pay for.
All that said, I want to compliment Orange on this terrific forum and look forward to being a part of it here.
