The biggest problem with foam board is that it tends to want to dent with minimal pressure so it's not really suited, but it can be done if you apply very little pressure, I have a feeling you won't enjoy the expetience much, I certainly didn't enjoy it, but I suppose it depends on one's level of patience;) And I have no patience at alllol

I've never tried photo paper I'm afraid, I've only ever painted on canvas, gesso board and Schoelershammer No.4 airbrush paper, canvas isn't great for erasing and scratching unless you cake it with loads of Gesso, I've tried foam board, Yupo and Bristol with no success at all.

There are several threads relating to photopaper. One is in the Step-by-Step section of the forum labelled "ADVICE ON PAPER FOR ERASING PAINT" dating back to Feb 2016 where the user does use photo paper (search for keyword "photopaper") Can be scratched patiently with a scalpel from what I read there.

Terraslate might be a good idea to try. I don’t think it is available a3 size though. But it is designed to go through a printer and is great to airbrush onto. It erases nicely too.

Here's the link for anyone else who is curious
    http://www.airbrushforum.org/threads/advice-on-paper-for-erasing-paint.15340/

Just remember that the paint is also a big part of being able to erase, scratching can be done on almost any surface with any paint . . the damage / success will vary depending on the paint/paper combo.

Createx Illustration erases well with varying implements.

Photo paper can be used quite effectively, Gloss and Matte just remember to 'stroke' gently with the blade, not aggressively scratch - i did make a comment relating to this in the other thread above.

Just a laser jet I assume? I could see where that would be handy to just print out a sketch as opposed to tracing it.

As far as I’m aware yes. I’m no expert LOL, but I think it will be happy with a standard house hold
    Printer.

I have a inkjet printer Epson I think works well however it's a A3 and capable of printing board fine art paper and paper roll.

I've bought some Golden Tans paint for my Paintpal project

yesterday I did some painting on this leopard, practice was perfect So I started add more block grey paint then it went so wrong from to little paint on clayboad to to much and then it started to spider and spit so I did the only thing I thought I should do in this situation pack up for the day so today is a fresh day I have striped down my brush cleaned it and now ready to start again

I may invest in a laser jet just to print on terraslate. Not sure why I dispize tracing and graphite paper..lol, my current epson inkget is a wide bed and I can print 13x19 but plain paper so what’s the point..great fun r practice however

You can use photo paper , I use it sometimes for my paint pal pictures as it comes in 5x7 size and the price is right for the amount of paper you get just scratch lightly as it will tear if you scratch to hard!
