I have been getting emails over the last few weeks about it. Its great but at $60 i don't know if i can warrant spending the money just yet.

Future Christmas present idea right now I am working the studio situation out. I have never split a Micron or even a Iwata C nozzle. I have flared and split Eclipse nozzles though. Must have been a catastrophe to need to replace the whole head system. Please don't buy into having to buy the whole head set when all you need is a nozzle. I don't buy into that one bit. I have replaced many nozzles without doing that and mine continue to work fine.

the last time I had a bent needle was over 6 or 6 years ago , I cant really remember I only know I switched to the open needle caps after that , and $60 + shipping would make this a very expensive paper weight ;) other than that it looks like a good tool if one tends to bend a lot of needles

Yes, if needles are bending then this is good. The vintage guys are quite interested in it... good for restoration.

Am amazed its taken so long for similar to come out, would prefer a little bench mounted grinder style (but likely cost prohibitive) as I think that would create a cleaner, more centralised point compared to perhaps the hand held rotating motion (Especially once the grinding stone inside starts to wear) but perhaps that's easily changed, otherwise it may be a case of needing a new one but as mentioned, if careful it may not be needed much but no doubt a handy bit of kit to have.

i have just been bought the sharpen air as a birthday present.. i am ridiculously clumsy with needles. not been too bad with the xtremes, but the sotar and krome needles i bend so easily! so i had 9 laying around..(not including the one thats folded over after a drop straight down on its nose! and still has the nossel and cap fused to it now.. )keeping that one for show purposes! lol!!! ) the ones left laying around added up to about £180 worth of needles (plus 2 weeks wait to get them if i was to replace them with new.) they are a mixture of badger - krome and sotar needles . some were really kinked over some were bent two directions others had the ends missing.. i sat there sharpening them all whilst watching tv last night and all look like new and usable again now.. i know a drill and stone will do the same and there are other techniques people use but for me the ease of using the shapenair, just sitting around twisting them back to a point using a small handheld device as simple as is means i'm impressed.
