Is it better to mix paint in bottles or cups? If bottles which ones work the best?
    Thanks

R, I forgot to mention that if you store any colours in the bottles or even the shot glasses overnight, never store paint mixes that have the reducers in them, likewise, never try to pour reduced paint back into it's original bottle, once you have added reducer to your paint it's shelf life is drastically reduced so the main advice is to only reduce what you can use up, I'm sure most add reducer in the brush and its recommended to put the reducer in the brush first, then your paint.

Thanks for that, I didn't know you couldn't store mixed paint.

You can store mixed paint, just not with reducer or any other additives in it, so if you mixed pure red with pure yellow to make pure orange, you can store that as long as you wish as long as you haven't added reducer or transparent base, etc.

Also remember to use solvent resistant bottles if you are doing solvent based paints. I had a bottle melt from the solvent once and paint went everywhere.

Another tip- TCPGlobal sells little 1 oz mixing cups that are really cheap and disposable. I bought a 100 pack of them plus 100 pipettes for like $15 shipped.

I've kept mixed createx, with reducer and trans base for a long time. I keep it capped, even after a year. Seems fine. The frog I finished had some year old mix just applied.

Sure was! I was inside a guys car spray booth painting a double portrait on a tailgate for him. Then he had the nerve complain that I tied up his booth all day when he was the one to want me to paint in there.

I forgot to ask... are you wanting to mix paint and store it? Or are you just looking to mix it up for immediate use? One great option is to use those little bathroom drink cups. I have a whole package full of them. The only thing I don't like about them is the bottom is very "bumpy" so it's kinda hard to mix all the paint up. I do things backwards and add the paint first, so that may be part of my problem. That's what led me to get the cups from TCP Global- they have a perfectly flat bottom, and the angle of the side makes it very easy to stir the paint up.

I just want to mix enough to fill the airbrush more than one time.

I use these. If you're in the U.S.A. you can pick them up at Walmart for a buck and a half

Apparently, Walmart only sells them in stores. I found the same cups on Amazon, but they want eight bucks.
