I’ve hit the search function and think I’ve a topic that hasn’t been discussed.
Pets........who’s got them and what have you got.
Me i’ve three annoying dogs who I love to death but they drive me mental.
Also a snake and the wife has a marine fish tank.
The snake is 18 years of age now and we’ve had him since a baby, he’s an albino california king snake and he hates me, loves my wife but hates me.
I’ve owned a ball python and a common boa before who was the biggest snake we have owned.

My dogs are three american bulldogs so proper working dogs and are like living with three constantly drunk dysfunctional humans.
They eat us out of house and home, also drop the most disgusting farts but they make me laugh daily and keep me fit with all the exercise.
Also I live in a fairly rough area and have been burgled while we were asleep upstairs so you expect dogs to be a good deterrent but they slept through it so not so much!!!
We are thinking of getting a cat once the dogs go so I’ve a little while to convince the wife to let me get a bobcat which she is dead against so i’ll probably settle for a normal cat that is pure evil.
Show me all your pets if you have any

Well I think you're right on this not being brought up.
Dogs, a cat, birds, do farm animals count?

My wife raises 6 different types of Finches , we use to raise parrotlets and cockatiels
Dogs are also the wife's they are Smorkies (designer mutts LOL ) and the cat was a stray kitten my youngest bought into the house it is a turtle tabby .
While all the farm animals have names they will end up on the table. Well except the chickens we have them just for eggs.

    We’ve owned cockatiels.
We are thinking about a parrot at some point, i’d like an african grey but will choose when it comes to it.
Not heard of a smorkie before lol
Designer dogs seem to be the in thing at the moment, i prefer my big dogs.
American Bulldogs are hard hard work though, make great companions but have this really bad need to see everything as a threat to the family which on one hand is great because you have a protector but bad if you want visitors lol
My dad owns chickens and you can’t beat fresh eggs

I got a cat, His name is Bibs, he's getting on a bit now and lies by the side of the tv stand all day. I have to be careful when I run the dyson round because he just doesnt move.. I rescued him one day a long time ago when I was a Postman, his old humans moved house and left him. So one day I picked him up from outside his old empty house in my car and took him home. The best and most expressive cat ever.

    Here's a couple of pictures.

    bibs3.JPG

    I am not amused.....

    bibs8.JPG

Ok unfortunately he's cremated and in a box but he is down by the side of the TV where he faithfully lay every day for 15 years. He passed away 6 years ago and I miss him dearly. He really was a character. As you can see from the photos. Plus I love black cats.

In reality if we had a dog my wife would really like a Cockapoo but I would prefer an English Bull Terrier. But while we are still working i think it would be unfair to have a pet and leave it alone all day. Id love another cat but it would have a lot to live up to.

We have that next door with my neighbours who leave their 2 huskies alone all the time and don't walk them. They do drive us mad at times howling and barking, but i'm not surprised. Next door must be deaf or go to bed in headphones. SO maybe again one day since we're getting older. It may be in the next 5 or 10 years. I'm not committing..

I am on dog number 7 now, we did keep two boxes of ashes but being there is no stopping us from owning them i would end up living in a pet cemetery so the last 3 we got scatter tubes and scattered the ashes.
I’ve owned Rottwielers, French Mastiff or Douge De Bordeauxs as they are known and a staff.
Dealt with it all.......cancer, epilepsy , heart failure..........the list is endless and costly lol.
Love my dogs though, heart breaking losing a pet.
But yeah never owned a cat but on the horizon is car ownership.

I'm typing this with a smile on my face, cats are well.... different! They certainly don't do as they're told like dogs mostly do. It will be an experience.

My youngest who is 19 says Dogs are humans pets , Humans are cats pets LOL
I use to have a stray cat that lived out side but was friendly as anything. When I would be walking in the yard it would walk right beside me, When I stopped it would sit much like a dog does when trained to do so. My buddy ask me how did I train the cat to do that I told him you do not train a cat that is just how the cat wants to be.

I’m actually lookimg forwards to getting a cat.
After years of dogs it will be nice to have a change in animal.
I’ll give it a year before we give in and get a dog too.

no and yes they are boss they do what they want when they want. But you can train them to stay off certain things mainly it is how much attention you give them while they are young drives how they turn out when they get older.
The one we have at times thinks it is just one of the dogs.

    Ok good to know.
Dogs tend to want lots of affection from the wife but less from me because i’m boss so 9 times out of 10 i’m telling then off for being little turds lol
I think I like the idea of an animal that likes to do its own thing though!
