Prep for wood painting (stool)

Dimitris

Mac-Valve Maestro!
Hi everybody,

yesterday I got a stool for painting and just a couple of questions that i need help with...

So I've sanded it down with 800 and 1200 grid to eliminate the clear coat and get a nice flat surface.
My question is with what do I have to primed it for the color to stick up? Will the base color just do? It's for indoor use, I'm going to be using wicked colors (don't know if it's important).

Thanks,
Dimitris

You should use a wood sealer and seal the wood first or the paint will bleed ,after that you will be good to go, after it drys just do a light sanding to knock the wood fibers back down(they swell from the sealer)
