Hi there, i have one really, but really really stupid question about airbrushing.

On my cousre i used Fengda airbruh 0.25, in my place is realy low cost airbrush, anot 30-40 euro.

I buy the Harder & Steenbeck evolution silverline two in one, i pay 165 euro.

My stupid question is... ... ...
Why i paint better with the low cost Fengda, and with my actualy H&S i have only lot of problem?
Is my low experience or the "expansive" airbrush have lot of more sensibility?

OK so what in particular are you experiencing difficulty with the brush...? What is the nozzle size of the H&S?

I have two nozzle size, 0.2 and 0.4
I used the 0.4, becouse with 0.2 i have lot of problem with createx color.
I used diluition about 50-60% with distilled water or createx reducer base.
My bigghest problem is the shadow and particular.
I try replace with this airbrush the same work from the course, but is only a disaster... :(

Createx Colors are terrible to paint with with small nozzle airbrushes. No matter how much you reduce. And your 50-60% reduction sound basically like a 1:1 or maybe 1:1.5 reduction. That is not much especially for the 20psi range. Get better paint and reduce 1:5 (paint:reducer) or even 1:10. And remember transparent base is not reducer.

Yes the straight Createx is intended for larger nozzles. Createx Illustration is more suited to the smaller nozzles and then reduction helps heaps.

There are several different paints in the createx range...... Createx airbrush colour is normally used for textiles and with a recommended nozzle of .5 and high PSI
Createx wicked, Createx Wicked Detail and Createx Illustration range are more for artworks on varying surfaces.

Water isn't recommend as a reducer as it has a habit of reacting with the mild solvents in the paint and getting gluey and not spraying well

What are you using to reduce paint, and how much are you using? Also what line of Createx paint are you using. The original line is really a fabric paint, and will struggle through small nozzles, other Createx lines such as Wicked or createx illustration have more refined pigment. You really need the high performance 4012 reducer too.

Also although .25 and .20 are not much different you will need to adjust your paint reduction, and if it isn't quite right it could be clogging or slightly blocking the nozzle.

If you undo the needle chuck and gently move the needle in and out by hand, can you feel any sponginess or stickiness? If so you will need to soak the nozzle in restorer (being careful of any o rings) and clean.

Just seen your reply - pearlised paint definitely needs a larger nozzle. You might be ok with the .4, but I wouldn't use it through the smaller one.

On the product sheet it says not to use 5608 in nozzles smaller than 0.3mm and pressure less than 30psi.

Yes 1:5 does mean 1 drop paint and 5 drops reducer. Or 2 drops paint and 10 drops reducer. Basically the same thing.

    Yup, that's the fabric one.
it will need a lot of reduction to get it to play nice on paper.
